The Louvre Pyramid is a large glass pyramid commissioned by then French president François Mitterrand, designed by IM Pei and was inaugurated in 1989. I was sitting here Flickr'en and eating a wonderful little citrus called a Clementine. I was admiring the creativity of the folks on Flickr in the 30-30-300 pool and glanced down at my hand full of peel. Lo, and behold, I saw a wonderful color, texture, and pattern. I took the peel over to the dining room table in the late afternoon light and snapped away. It took me about 5 shots to get the shadow I was looking for. Hope you like it. It was fun.
Whip it up!! I was playing around with my new Nikon SB-700 and was pleasantly pleased with the results .... haven't really been one that uses flash but that might, now, change!!

Sometimes it's nice to be on your own! This afternoon my wife was out and I had finished a little DIY and there was no g-kids running all over the place (that is going to happen, tomorrow!!) so I thought ~ a nice latte and a few chapters of my book!
A little "me-time" and sitting in the quiet of the garden is a lovely place to be!

This was the camera that my wife's mother used back in the day! I have to be honest and say that she was quite the photographer and regardless of where she was or doing her camera was always close at hand!

Was too busy to post pics to Flickr during the World Juniors, but now that I've been back home for a few days I had time to pick out ~50 pics from the tournament to post to Flickr and will be posting them in small bunches during the coming week or so. Hope you'll like 'em. :)
"What do you mean, not this tree, Pops?!" Well, actually it was that tree and please don't worry that is a toy chainsaw, not the real thing that little James is having fun with!!
The real chainsaw was used by baby James's dad who had just cut down an old tree in my back garden that he believed was diseased - certainly we were having no new leaves growing and as in a former life he was a tree surgeon, I think he was correct! Lewis and I did the hard work and cut up the tree and got it removed and taken to our local recycling centre!

Down at the beach today it was windy, windy and of course the rain wasn't too far away! I was maybe a little close to the crashing waves and had to spend some time "cloning" the splashes off of my photo, tch!
