Trip to the KEIGHLEY & WORTH VALLEY RAILWAY. I like this one. It really gives the impression of speed although the train was only moving at around 5 mph.

I just can't believe it's taken me this long to get a shot of a train at this location. I have driven over this single track, which crosses Diehl Road on the border of Naperville and Aurora, literally hundreds of times, and I never see any trains. Tonight as I was on my way home from work, I noticed a high green for a southbound train. Knowing that the signal is an approach signal, I pulled over into a nearby parking lot and waited. Within 30 seconds I heard a horn, and imagine my surprise to see EJ&E 667 rounding the bend. Must have been good luck!

Week 14 is "high Key". I shot my model which I found in our curio cabinet against a white collapsible reflector using my studio strobes. Strobist info; snooted alien Bees B400 camera right @ 45/45 as the key light, & Alien Bees B800 for background 2 stops over. Edits in Lightroom 3 & CS5

No stranger to the East Midlands region, this was new in 2017 to Marshalls of Sutton-on-Trent who operated a pair of Versa XFEs on their 90, both of which now reside at High Peak in Skyline 199 livery for use alongside the E200MMCs.

There are tall grasses that grow all along the High Line. I stood on a bench to get a shot of something else, looked to my right and saw this.
part of a friend's hens weekend. my god this was indulgent - reminiscent of a mad hatter's tea party. so much fun.
Now preserved as a tourist attraction, this is one of the most spectacular pieces of carving to survive in Ireland. The effects of erosion have not obliterated the images to the realm of guess-work

Sony A7R with 85MM 1.4 Sony lens
Used one large softbox from right side not directly aimed at model to catch soft light from edges and made sure bottem of softbox was slightly below chin height and top of softbox above head height. Was shot outside so had cloudy sunlight as fill from left. Behind model is a tree which should be slightly visible, but isnt due to increased contrast with upload to flickr I think.
