Another small Steampunk build, this time a high wheeler aka penny-farthing

As the sun begins to sink below the Rochester skyline, a CSX local rushes over High Falls with a four-car train for the yard at Goodman Street.

Caught a crop-dusting JetRanger just outside the fence at Luke AFB yesterday. This was looking more or less straight up as the pilot was at the apex of a hammerhead over some power lines, lining up for his next pass.

This year Monster High will be participating in the student Monster Exchange program and extending it's haunted hospitality to ghouls from all over the world. Of course, it wouldn't truly be an "exchange" if some of our ghouls weren't participating, too. That's why Draculaura is totes excited to haunt East where she'll be spending time away from Monster High in the city of Shibooya. New friends, new experiences and a new culture await, but will she miss the old too much to enjoy the new? Probably not, this is Draculaura, after all, and if she misses anything it's being able to share her stories and adventures with her friends.

Along the Pine River at Tinchi Tamba Wetlands, Brisbane. The tide is so high, it is nearly spilling over the bank. Note the Great Egret standing in the shadows on the right. Taken a couple of months ago.

It’s a location I rarely visit and I don’t know why as High Force is only just over an hour away and has so many opportunities for the landscape photographer. I was inspired to revisit with my grandchildren Christmas Eve 2024 after seeing the location featured in a Brian Cox solar system documentary. His visit was in the snow and it looked magical, unfortunately no such conditions were present for the children’s walk but it was great all the same. Fortunately not long after the new year the snow came. It arrived heavy on the Sunday so I headed back first thing Monday morning. I first headed for the viewing gallery on the south side of the river in deep virgin snow, I took a series of photos. I then headed back to the bridge and headed up to below the falls on the north side and took this image which is the same view point as the Brian Cox documentary.

Je sors mon cerf-volant encore de temps en temps quand il fait beau. C'était la première fois que je le photographiais, il faut dire que le ciel s'y prêtait ! :)

A westbound unit cottonseed train pounds it's way West along I-40 between Holbrook and Winslow, Arizona. This train consisted entirely of high-sided "woodchip" gondolas, with four units up front, three mid-train DPUs and two more units on the rear.

This tree branch was a long way up into the dunes - some storm tossed it there no doubt - too heavy to lift
