A six shot panorama from Stanage Edge, from Higger Tor on the left to Stanage High Neb on the right.
Best viewed large.
Started off with some sunlight - but ended up with gale winds and rain which proved more interesting. 20 second exposure.

Taken from Higger Tor looking towards Stanage.
My next door neighbour came calling asking if I fancied a trip up to Winscar to see if we could spot the Aurora...So we ended up at Stanage!!!
It was like a Bank Holiday up there, loads of cars/people all looking skyward, so we buggered off up Higger for some peace and quiet.
After a few hours and nothing, a few faint bands of light started to appear and the light show began. If I hadn't been rushed I would have liked to have got some foreground in too but beggars can't be choosers.
Binned loads of shots as the frost/dew that was settling on the lens constantly.
Pretty much straight out of the camera.

Headed out on Sunday morning knowing it needed to be somewhere nearby as I needed to be back sharpish.
Landed at Higger Tor just as the sun was rising, so legged it up on top and just caught the end of the best colour! (overlaid slightly!!)
A good bonus was meeting Paul Newcombe up there, and if you take a look at his stream you'll see what I mean!
This is looking the other way down the valley after a quick sprint whilst the sun was still out!
Bouldering today out at Higger Tor in the Peak District with some friends.. Lovely and warm, gentle breeze and some hard problems!
Sunrise this morning was fairly vivid but short lived, it's also getting earlier hence the hurried location. Even getting up at 4 am doesn't leave much time to head off the beaten track...
3 stop HE Grad, one shot.

Still trying to chase the perfect combination of heather and sunlight - the heather is coming into full colour but the light is as fickle as ever.

One of my first proper shots with my new D7100 and Nikkor 10-24mm! Very happy with it so far, but I definitely need some practice to get used to all the new buttons!
This shot was taken the other evening on Hathersage moor. A view from Carl wark (some sort of ancient fort I gather!) over to Higger Tor, a part of the Peak District that remains in the Sheffield city boundaries!
Another one from Thursday morning, this was taken on the walk back from Carl Wark heading back towards Higger Tor when the sun burst back out giving some gloriously intense warm light.
I love the way the sun has caught the grass in the bottom right of the frame adding some nice contrast to the darker heather while the path helps draw your eye through the image and up onto the rocks and rich blue sky.(1/80 f5.6 @ 16mm 0.6 hard ND grad filter)
Taken from the western end of Higger Tor looking just west of north towards Stanage Edge. Unfortunately cloud drifted in and out of shot as I took the photos giving this colourful effect.

A less processed version which has retained more detail in the trails.

Fill up your vehicle with fuel, turn off your Sat Nav and 'get lost' in t'Dales... views such as this are in abundance.
