2/3: A nice solid "3rd hand" tool made out of junk. Springs, washers, and tight fittings keep it stiff yet flexible.
Across from ground zero there is a church which was a temporary home to many firefighters during that week. It has now been made into a memorial which honors those who died trying to save lives. One of the schools in this area made these "helping hands" to send to the firefighters hoping to lift their spirits.
I went out this morning in search to find people being good samairtans and sadly enough not one time did I find someone showing kindness to another, in fact I witnessed so much of the opposite. People being hateful, in a rush, cursing each other, blowing horns at people not going fast enough for them, being rude and inconsiderate. It was really disturbing to know that times have come to this selfishness. I fear there is very little selflessness in the world today! : (
This photo is my interpretation of someone down on their luck and another lending a helping hand, The handwriting are of many different languages of the world representing the many cultures, faith, ethnicity, etc. After what I witnessed today it would be nice to see this sort of hospitality in the world again. This is two photos I had a friend position their hand as such for both hand positions and then I stacked the images and erased away the background area covering one of the hands. I merge them together and converted to a high contrast B&W added a texture, grunged up the lower hand and then added the handwriting!

I've been diverted onto other panics for the past couple of days and whilst I think I've helped save a couple of projects from going off the rails it means I'm on for a hard day tomorrow to get back on track and caught up with where I need to be by the end of the week.
