Helping Hands Charity Lunch at Bianco Restaurant

A crying child, of a patron, being consoled by a host at a café in Kasol, Himachal.

I was sitting at the café with my family and saw the child run up to the corner and sit. When I picked up my camera and turned in an instant, I found this scene. Really lucky to have captured this.

With the help of their neighbor, Zebulon Winsatt, 18, Hilary Deangelis and her mother and Jordan Farm owner, Sylvia Miskoe, work to bail hay and beat the rain on Friday afternoon, July 23, 2010. The farm was built in 1860 and was later acquired by family several generations earlier. It was initially used as a dairy farm, but in the 1960's it was turned into a horse farm. Currently there are four horses and 2 goats on the farm. The hay that is bailed in the fields is used at the farm and the excess hay is sold.

After a day off work I am considerably improved today.

The horrible fever has passed and now I'm just feeling snuffly. Time to shake hands with some old friends...

Our friend Judy has lived with a terror in the form of a destructive dog for two years. She's finally found a new home for the crazy canine, but she's been left with a house full of furniture that's been gnawed on or ripped open. We have come to the rescue and are able to offer her some furniture. And her buddy, Rick, loaded it up in his truck to take home to Judy. Truly a Perfect Moment.

in celebration of Juneteenth!

170/365

>>Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States.

From its Galveston, Texas origin in 1865, the observance of June 19th as the African American Emancipation Day has spread across the United States and beyond.

Today Juneteenth commemorates African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement. It is a day, a week, and in some areas, a month marked with celebrations, guest speakers, picnics and family gatherings. It is a time for reflection and rejoicing. It is a time for assessment, self-improvement and for planning the future.<<
