When you're drowning, you don't say 'I would be incredibly pleased if someone would have the foresight to notice me drowning and come and help me,' you just scream.

I swear that we're not out looking for trouble, but we ran into another example of nature's harsh realities last night. Here's a link to the other example from last week.
Just before closing time at the Baylands, we found a fledgling night heron who had fallen/slipped and gotten his neck stuck between the area where branch splits into two (like a "V"). It was squawking loudly and thrashing all over, trying to get loose.
We found the groundskeeper who came, unwedged it, and put it on the ground safely. Unfortunately, it was still injured and was bleeding from one of its wings as it hobbled off into the bushes.
