Detcon 1 was helped by grants from LoneStarCon 3, Chicon 7, and CanSMOF (Anticipation) to pay for the larger ballroom.
You helped make our Tails of Independence Luncheon on May 2, 2017, a "pawsome" success.
Nearly 300 generous people joined Can Do Canines at the Golden Valley Country Club and contributions and pledges totaled almost $150,000. That's enough to train six new assistance dog teams! Thanks to all in attendance for their incredible support. We could not perform our life-changing work without you!

Can anyone help me identify the little white and green flower? Dozens of them came up amongst my sunflowers, and no where else ~ as tho I had planted them there. I use them to accompany the sunflowers in vases, but have no idea where they came from or what they are. I planted 3 or 4 different varieties of sunflowers, but surely these can't be one of them, can they??
Just acquired a 35000 square foot building near downtown Toledo for 1 year in a roof trade. So far it will be part Johnnys Roofing, storage vessel, American picker restoration, Inside vehicle maintenance, car restoration. May try raising feeder goldfish and Tilapia. Any good ideas by anyone would be very welcome.

We're all about partying...with a purpose! Maker City on 11th Floor of LA Mart in Downtown LA helped us do just that on Thursday, September 12, from 6-9pm! Non-profits were on site to promote volunteer opportunities and ways to give back through unique hands-on activities. While guests learned more from the participating organizations, a dazzling array of delicious snacks and beverage stations were provided by local businesses to tantalize taste buds and quench thirst.

Highschooler Gerry Garcia helped lead a group of highschool volunteers and community members renovated the neglected Lauderbach Park in Chula Vista, surveyimg local residents and securing city funding to install a public restroom, cover up areas dangerous to children, repair drinking fountains, improve the play structures, park greenery, and fences. The group is now working to draw more people to the site through community programs and regular sports activites to change the park's reputation as a hangout for homeless people.
