"That Tree" by the lake, in Newstead Abbey Park. Irretrieveably damaged by gale-force winds over Christmas. It now seems that the whole tree may have to come down.

Noooo *sniffs* I'm so HEARTBROKEN!!!! I screamed and shouted and yeah - trampeled like a little girl!! And it's all my fault - I'm a stupid asshole!!!
I'm tending today to all my dolls which has a bit frizz - so I took my SIndy and defrizzed her hair tips and next was Emerald - actually perfect - just the top layer a bit frizzy ...
Yesterday I read all about her hair not to mess it up - ONE site funnybunny - said NO hot water ... the next for MLP said hot water ... since I used hot iron and water on my ponies I wanted to try ... THOUGH I read funnybunnys warning before!!!
I used fabric softener - then conditioner and at last I wanted to dip her a bit in water - IMMEDIATELY they began to fizz all over and shrink

I was heartbroken to hear about the passing of David Bowie. His music was transcendent and always a part of my life. I am going to miss him sorely.
I did have the luck to see him 3 times and the last time was the best. My wife and I caught his show before we were married in Montreal playing in a small venue. He was touring doing mostly obscure songs. I will always remember that concert as being the best of all of the shows I saw.

The people that remained, are heartbroken, all they had has been lost. In conversation with them, it becomes clear that PTSD has set in, as despite their best efforts to salvage what is left, there is very little to build upon. They are without power, water, roofs, and in many cases any of their belongings. One resident pictured here, Eliseo Nunez Ruiz told us he was doing his best to not visualize his own suicide, but he felt he was losing the battle.
Grateful for the best momma a girl could ever ask for. Not only was she the best mom but also the best wife, grandma and woman of Christ. She has taught me so much and words cannot describe how grateful I am for her. I miss her soooooo much.

I cannot imagine live without my grandson...my heart is broken for all of the people of Newtown, Connecticut.....such sorrow no parent should ever out live the children.....may God be with you and heal you all.
Please hug and kiss your precious ones in your life ! As we all know it is to short !

My little Kaiju (the black Brussels griffon) crossed the Rainbow Bridge last Thursday:( I am heartbroken about it and will miss him so very much. He was thirteen years old and had renal failure. We treated him for months so he could have quality of life with us for a little while longer. Kai was always such a stubborn boy it was one of the qualities I loved about him. He always was one of the funniest dogs I have ever known and his sense of humor was amazing.
He was Gidget's devoted mate/companion for 8 years.
She is very sad, but Gidget is
going to be ok. Her tail was wagging this morning and her little sparkly mischief face
is on. I know she will miss him as much as I do, if not moreso. But we are a family and even my animals pull together in times of sorrow.
Wolfy is being Big Brother to Gidget and they are comforting me and each other. Little Kai is with my other dogs over the rainbow Bridge and I know I will see them again some day.

Heartbroken she is, lying alone with her head on the phone thinking of him till it hurts. WELL if I have to listen to Air Supply's 'All Out of Love' once more she'll have more than a sore head....
I feel like it is important to let all of you know about the loss of our sweet Oreo in November of last year. Mostly because it is one of the major reasons I found it hard to come back to flickr. Oreo was a family member to us. He helped me many times by being a little model and helping me accomplish my Project 365. Seeing pictures of him still breaks my heart and I doubt we will ever really "get over it". All of you were always so sweet when I posted pictures of him and I thank you all immensely. It makes me remember how special he was. I'll leave you guys with a little note I wrote on Facebook the week it occurred to give you guys a little insight on why Oreo meant so much to my mother and I.
"Yesterday morning Mom and I had to make the tough decision of saying goodbye to Oreo. We are heartbroken and are trying to cope with all of this. There is no way we can describe how much Oreo meant to both of us. It’s been hard to deal with individuals who don’t understand how painful this is. Most of you know that I considered him my hairy little brother. We didn’t only lose a pet, we lost a family member. So to those who understand, thank you. And to those who have been through this in the past, I am so sorry. We’ve decided to celebrate his life instead of mourning his death and want to remember his crazy little happy self. The way he would grab all my kitchen towels and hide them from me, how he would stuff as many cotton balls as he could in his mouth just to tease us and pretend that he didn’t have any, the way he would bark and run around us when we would dance, how he always chased helicopters convinced that he would reach them and how he could identify all of his little toys, la pelota, el monstrito, el monkey, pinky, etc… Oreo, Mami and I love you and miss you and we hope that you are now running in an endless field of squeaky toys where it rains your favorite sweet potato treats. "

i was heartbroken to see this homeless man today living on the train tracks. i guess he figures since this is a high traffic area, he'll get the most handouts here, but as you can see, he has made his home literally inches from the tracks. his home is quite literally a pile of filth. i saw several people pull over to give him money, but no one should have to live this way.
