Sad to say Romeo passed away 4-16-2021 to cancer, his loss has devastated myself, I put my camera away for a month because I loved him so much and couldn’t find myself wanting to take anymore photos, he was a special needs kitty who loved hugs, this was the last photo that was taken of him.
Goodbye my special friend....I miss you so much!!!

The sunflower is part of the the daisy family Asteraceae.
Sunflowers attract attract beneficial insects, including pollinators like the honey bee.
Before blooming, sunflower plants tilt during the day to face the sun in order to gain more sunlight for photosynthesis.
In Greek mythology, the sunflower is associated with loyalty and devotion. In one story, a nymph named Clytie was besotted with the sun god Apollo. As a result, she endeavored to follow him wherever he went. While he was at first amused, Apollo eventually lost interest in Clytie and fell in love with another nymph named Leucothoe.
Heartbroken and jealous, Clytie told Leucothoe’s father about his daughter’s affair with the sun god. Naturally, the protective father moved to break off the relationship between his daughter and the powerful god.
Enraged at the interference, Apollo turned Clytie into a sunflower. Yet, even as a flower, Clytie continued to turn her gaze constantly towards the Apollo wherever he traveled.
And ofcourse, the flower is simply big and beautiful.

Our faithful little friend Tyson went to sleep yesterday, mid-afternoon.
I’m sorry if I haven’t replied to any of your posts, but my heart wasn’t in FLICKR today, maybe a day or two before I’m back.
Jennifer and I were Tyson’s second home; we got him when he was seven months old. When arrived home he just made himself right at home, and for the next thirteen years we had a happy time, he always went on holiday with us and behaved himself in hotels. As Jennifer is blind, he took on the roll of her guide, no training; he just seemed to know what to do. Needles to say, Jennifer is heartbroken, Tyson was known throughout the village and was friends with everyone. Jennifer frequently went out with him and if there was something he couldn’t do there was always someone who would put them back on the right track. I, of course, took him out when he wanted to run and play, which he did lots of. We always said, “If Tyson isn’t welcome, we wouldn’t go”.
He succumbed to heart and renal failure, but thankfully he didn’t suffer. He just got tired and played less and less, so he had lots of love and care, although he wouldn’t eat any of his food and treats, which really upset us, although his many toys surrounded him. We shall miss him terribly and has left a big hole in our lives.

My mom passed away peacefully on Dec 23,2021 after a 1 year battle with metastatic breast cancer that spread to her liver and bones. I am still heartbroken to lose her but I am grateful I got to hold her hand as she passed. She was first diagnosed 3 years ago with cancer but after a 2 year battle it turned metastatic and things got aggressive, very quick, despite relentless invasive treatments (surgery, multiple bouts of IV chemo, radiation, trial drugs). I am so sad that my mom didn’t make it to Christmas and the New Year. She supported me and my love of birds and everything that my sister and I did. May she now rest with the angels. I wish you all my best wishes for 2022. Rest In Peace Mom. I carry your heart with me.

I took this picture for a photo contest...then read the rules of it having to be taken on the sim *facepalms* but I liked it that much that I am going to post it but for the record I am NOT heartbroken.
What turns men into killing machines,

Everyone who has a dog understands the meaning of unconditional love, but in our case that unconditional love goes both ways.
I'm a bit heartbroken, because due to a new job starting tomorrow I will be away most of the day. I'm so gonna miss her (I think I got a separation anxiety :( ).

I have some sad news, Butterscotch passed away today. We are really heartbroken. He was such a special cat. He will be missed every day.

I'm still plodding and that's about it..
I am heartbroken that my gorgeous budgie Alfie who we have had for 7 years got out of his cage while outside (my fault). This has happened before but he always flies back to me. The weather was so bad with wind and rain that he got caught in the wind and carried away. I have done everything to find him but no luck. I have hobbled around the local streets like a mad woman, calling his name, playing budgie calls, put up flyers and have him on every lost animal Facebook page. Its been two weeks so he has either gone to bird heaven or someone has him. George the Cocky is missing him.
After the passing of my son's gentle white marshmallow of a Pitbull, Trigger... the boys were heartbroken... so after much talk and searching the web, they found a wonderful Labrador Retriever breeder and they fell in love with this little piece of sweet chocolate... now, who doesn't love chocolate!!!
Believe me, the will have their hands full taking care of a tiny puppy and all they must go through before they become an obedient dog... but let the adventure begin!!
I got to meet him yesterday and my heart melted....

He’d been on steroids for a couple of weeks. The vet says that he had a brain tumour, and then a brain hemorrhage yesterday.

He would light them up with his words, He would make me smile from ear to ear,
He was never scared to talk his mind and show that he cares for a hand full of people that
has touches his life in these 14 years, I have known Dark from the time he started Dating my
Sister Madison, I am happy that I got to have some memories to live on from this moment.
But I am sad that I don't get to talk or make anymore memories, Dark You are a truly soul but you
have gotten your wings. You are now our guiding light Angel up above. I am going to miss our talks,
and our pranks. I will always remember you.

I had a strange problem with my Helios lens. Heartbroken not to be able to use it anymore, I emailed Nigel Nigel with a Why? to see if he was aware of the problem. He has a lot of different lenses and also he gets the bokeh much better than me. Spontaneously and so helpful he had a solution. Now I can use it again and my monday face is soooo good!!!
Nigel, the one flower is a little hurt. I didn't have my glasses on when I was picking, but as you can see she's fine because she has friends! Many thanks for your advice!!!

As told by an old First Nations myth, a boy and girl from two different tribes met on Spirit Island once a week. Although they soon fell in love, their tribes remained enemies. After the girl confessed the story of her forbidden love to her father (a chief), he banned her from ever returning to Spirit Island. Heartbroken, her lover continued to visit the island, hoping to meet the girl once more. He never saw her again and died on that very island. Legend has it that his spirit still haunts the island, desperately searching for the girl to this very day. :-((

Yesterday, our beautiful dog Bristol passed away after fighting with cancer. It was my Steppenwolf's doggie for 10 years. He is heartbroken and so am I.

Spirit Island on Jasper National Park's Maligne Lake is one of the most photographed and loved destinations in Canada.
I first saw an image of Spirit Island when I was young. I always yearned to stand here myself and savor the natural wonders that had so impressed me. It was truly a spiritual experience for me when I finally did visit.
According to First Nations mythology, Spirit Island gets its name from two young lovers from feuding tribes who used to meet secretly on the island. However, when the young woman eventually confessed her forbidden affair to her father, one of the tribes’ chiefs, he banned her from ever returning to the island. Heartbroken, her lover continued to return to Spirit Island throughout his life, hoping to see his beautiful lover again. But she never came and he eventually died on the island, where his spirit still resides.
