EDIT: Apparently, I am receiving the girl in the next picture. . . A Goldie will be on her way here soon (probably Monday). Honestly, I don't really care much which one at this point (though I feel a deep-seated urge to cuddle and dress the little waif in the photo above, she looks cold).
Still. . . to come across "my" girl on ebay after sending off a HUGE chunk of money (I've only once before in my life bought something that was in this price range), seeing this on ebay was not a pretty moment.
More Edit: MoonRouge found the new listing, and apparently the girl I had bought (that is, the actual one, rather than the one in the recycled photo) has had her hair cut a bit. This pretty much explains everything.
As a side note, I was promised a tracking number on Monday, and still don't have one (it's Tuesday their time). So it's doubtful she's shipped. Which means there's almost zero chance she'll make it here for New Years :(. I also feel she's going to make a "mistake" and send her via RA rather than the promised EMS. . .we'll see. I've emailed her asking for the tracking number.

anyway, yesterday was absolutely amazing. i couldn't ask for better friends. :D
Heartbroken at the loss of two 30 year old healthy ash trees in a neighbouring garden. The council cut them down in preparation for moving in a new family (who gets no say in the matter). The trees formed a green wall at one side of the house, shade and calm from all the windows and the garden. In spring and autumn large numbers of wood pigeons would eat the young leaves and ash keys. Robins, blackbirds, tits, wrens and goldfinches enjoyed its shelter. So depressing 😢

with itunes playing on random, i sat at my desk trying to decide what i should do for today's 365. then itunes decided to be cruel and play "how deep is your love" by the bird and the bee. this is a very sweet & romantic song, made all the more sad since ryan is the one who gave me the EP. so as i was overwhelmed by heartache and started to cry, i already had my camera in hand so i snapped today's photos.

Conviction for the Believer
Scriptures: Romans 1:24-25, Psalms 23
Recently I spoke to a heartbroken woman. Her father was dying, and he was cold toward his family and God. He desired no contact and refused to discuss any spiritual matter.
But God is able to reach anyone—even someone hostile to the faith. Consider the apostle Paul’s conversion! Yet Scripture also teaches that the Lord eventually gives people over to the hardness of their own hearts. There may come a point when He no longer draws them by revealing their need for a Savior.
The situation is different for believers, though. When we, in our humanness, continue to sin, the Holy Spirit convicts us so we’ll get back on track. At that point, we can humbly repent and follow Him or ignore His voice and continue to sin. If we persist in error, our Father will keep calling us back. But the danger is that our hearts may become desensitized and eventually we may cease hearing His warning.
Thankfully, we are children of God, and He loves us too much to let us remain in a sinful pattern. Though chastisement and conviction are never pleasant, He knows our travelling down the wrong road results in much greater heartache. The Lord is a shepherd, using His staff and rod to lovingly bring us to green pastures.
On the Christian journey, there will be temptations to stray, falsely promising to satisfy longings. Stay closely connected to Jesus through prayer and Scripture. Be listening so you can obey immediately when He calls you to change course. In the long run, living God’s way brings the greatest joy.

on this trip I discovered monkeys, elephants, Thai whiskey and that my relationship is sadly over.

So, these silly pics were because I rewatched Angel lately. And I reaaaally love Angel & Cordelia, they're so cute together and their story makes me so sad =( Their scenes in the 100th episode are so touching, beautiful and heartbreaking... It makes me cry so much each time I see it.. Yes I am sappy I know =p

some days i am relatively okay. then i can have a moment when the pain and how much i miss ryan hits me square in the chest and pulls my heart & soul right out of me. i had one of these moments today right after i got out of the shower.
while these instances are absolutely horrible, i feel as though they are necessary. i cannot keep myself distracted all of the time so that i never experience the pain. otherwise, one day it'll hit me a hundred-fold, which would be far far worse. what i need to do is find the right balance between letting myself ache & hurt & cry [which is required for healing] and keeping myself distracted [which is essential for functioning in life].

I lost my beautiful girl to a cruel growth in her tummy. There is not a creature on this planet who had a joy for life as much as my little girl. She was brave beyond brave, and fought it to the end. I held her stiff body for hours, trying to keep her warm even though I knew that she was gone. She was the sweetest, most loving dog that I have ever known. She truly lived up to her name, Freya, the goddess of love as she loved everyone and gave sloppy kisses to every person and dog that she met. My heart is broken, but I know that one day I will meet her again on the other side of the rainbow bridge and her sister and her will be off chasing squirrels and giving sloppy kisses to every dog there.

Katy Perry anyone? Since I first saw this fig I have called him "left shark" haha.
We decided against going camping based on the weather. I was a bit heartbroken by that. Then, an hour into our drive home the seller canceled my transaction for a Pepa Middie Blythe and refunded me (she said the doll got a crack and scratches.) So hubby decided retail therapy at the Grove City Outlets was in order. I couldn't find anything I really wanted until I stumbled on some Series 15 minifigs. They were overpriced, but we got four of them (the godlike thing? Farmer, Shark, and astronaut) I felt the bags and knew what I was getting. I have most of the ones I want from this series now.

My mom entered into Heaven yesterday at 5:15pm. We were with her, holding her until her final breath, just as she wished. Although we are absolutely heartbroken not to have her here with us, we rejoice knowing that she is where she was created to be, spending eternity with her Savior. This season has been incredibly hard but it has been full of glimpses of God's goodness and mercy. We covet your prayers as we mourn the loss of a faithful wife, loving mother and treasured Mimi.
We will be celebrating her life on Saturday, May 17th at DeGusipe Funeral Home in Maitland. I will post more details as they are finalized. We invite you to join us as we celebrate the woman who was loved by everyone she met.
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. -Psalm 34:18
