During the early hours of today, my beloved little Chihuahua, Choco, passed over the Rainbow Bridge. He was the youngest of my brood and the most lively and robust, we'd never dreamed that we'd be saying goodbye to him at just 7 years old. I'm just heartbroken, I never knew I had so many tears inside me. Choco 'Baudouin' you're going to be soooo missed.

This dog was so adorable. He followed us around the entire island of Inis Oírr and then boarded our ferry when we tried to leave. He stood on the pier as the ferry pulled away and looked heartbroken.

My friend Dennis passed away this morning 14th January 2017. His wife of over 30 years Wendy is heartbroken.

Dennis and Wendy made me Godmother to their daughter, this was a wonderful gift when we did not think we would ever have our own child.

At 6.00pm on Friday 12 June 2015, employees of Clerys department store in Dublin were told that the business was closing. They were given an hour to gather personal belongings and were then escorted to the exit by hired security personnel.

Clerys—dating back 162 years and owned since 2012 by Gordon Brothers Group, an American venture capital company—had been secretly sold in the dead of night. The business was split into retail and property sections prior to the deal going through. The retail section was sold for €1 and duly declared bankrupt, thus denying the employees and others of their rightful dues. The Clerys building was then sold separately.

Gordon Brothers Group walked away with a handsome profit from the property transaction and instantly washed their hands of all responsibility for their former employees. Those employees—some of whom had spent a lifetime in Clerys—lost all of their accumulated redundancy entitlements and were eventually paid minimum statutory redundancy by the Irish government.

The Clerys building was bought by Natrium Ltd. (a consortium consisting of D2 Private, controlled by property developer Deirdre Foley, with John Skelly and Ronan Daly) and Cheyne Capital, London. Both companies have steadfastly refused to meet the former Clerys employees or government representatives.

The former Clerys employees are now campaigning for a change in the law that will protect others who may find themselves in a similar situation.

It is with heartbroken sorrow that my beloved friend Whiskey is no longer at my side.

I have been so lucky and truly blessed to share his short but wonderful life. I will dearly miss him more than words can ever say, "he was the love of my life and always will be".

Some of you may know he had kidney failure in August of last year but rallied round and lived life to the full as best as he could. Regrettably towards the end of last month his illness returned with no hope of him recovering and sadly was put to sleep in my arms.

I still have quite a few photographs taken from the walks we took during those few months and from time to time I will cherish uploading them onto this wonderful Flickr site.

been waiting too long for someone who was never coming

On Thursday afternoon I had an upsetting appointment with a specialist at OHSU. I found out I am facing at least one, likely two more surgeries, to correct the problems left over from my hysterectomy in December. I am heartbroken, I am unsure how to pay for them, and I am incredibly frustrated and angry.

I got home from my appointment and was put in the car by my fiance. We picked up our BFF's girlfriend, and drove hours and hours to Crescent Lake in the Deschutes National Forest.

Other friends had gone in on Wednesday to secure campsites for us all, and we joined them at sunset. We spent Friday boating, tubing, and playing like children in the downright tropical water of the lake. It was warm, blue and green, and irresistible. We played bocce ball, grilled too much food to mention, drank, laughed, swam, boated, even took a side trip to Crater Lake just an hour away. Over the course of my three days in the woods on cell-phone lock-down, I left feeling human again.

I took many photos this weekend of our friends, a large group of us, a slightly crazy group of us, but this was our last night. Around our campsite on the lake, between sunset and moonrise. The fire was roaring, the laughter was echoing across the lake, and I sat on the shore and looked back and saw the trees lit up and knew I needed this image. The people you see there made my heart so, so happy. For three days I was healthy again. And for that I cannot thank my friends enough.

Rupert handled all the paperwork with War Office including death of other brother Richard Oswald Roberts (left) who was killed in 1916 on Western Front. Older lady would be mother Martha Roberts who died in 1942. I presume girl to be Mavis ( who was frail) who died in 1919. Other sisters are twins and not pictured: Enid and Aimee. Father Henry Owen Roberts ( not pictured) would have been heartbroken - died in 1930 in Melbourne. Family grew out of Roberts family ( prosperous bootsellers and boot merchants) who settled in Heatherleigh, a home in Hunter St, Castlemaine, just down from Buda historic home."

MARRIAGE

ROBERTS—GRIFFITHS.

A marriage was solemnised in the Baptist Church yesterday, when Mr Rupert Roberts, third son of Mr and Mrs H. O. Roberts, was wedded to Miss Emma Griffiths, only daughter of Mr and Mrs D. Griffiths, the officiating clergyman being the Rev. F. J. Wilkin, uncle of the bride. Sgt. Bliss (a returned soldier), and Mr Alex. Griffiths, brother of the bride, acted as grooms-

men, while the bridesmaids were Miss Enid Roberts, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Ethel Dixon, of Melbourne.

The "Bridal March" and "Wedding March" were played by Mr Clyde Griffiths, the bride's brother. The church was nicely decorated with floral devices, arches and flags, with the initials of the newly-wedded pair in the centre of the room. The school hall, where a reception was held, and the wedding breakfast partaken of, was very tastefully adorned with festoons of flowers, and presented a bright appearance. The customary toasts were proposed and honored, after which Mr and Mrs Rupert Roberts left by train on their honeymoon tour,

amid showers of confetti and expressions of good wishes.

Damn Minnie must be heartbroken...
