I'm making bento lunches again! This is my son's lunch for summer school today. He's having animal-shaped sandwiches made with sprouted 7 grain bread, organic lunch meat, cheese, and spinach. The scrap pieces from cutting out the animal shape are on the bottom followed by a layer of roasted seaweed. Top left box has cotton candy flavor grapes. Top right is a corn, heirloom tomato, bean salad with homemade avocado dressing. I'm so glad my son will eat anything and everything

The program aims to reduce malnutrition from 32 percent to 22 percent.

This lunch is missing green :-( But I need to go shopping so, meh!
Incidentally, the market in Bath was one I went to on Friday, I had the day off work. We drove to Bathampton and went to this great pub I know there called The George, had a lovely lunch sat outside, then walked the half hour or so along the side of the canal into Bath. Wandered round there for a good while, which is when I discovered the farmers market. I got a massive bag of huge parsnips for £1 and a big punnet of strawberries for £1 (the same size as the one's in Tesco's for £4), but unfortunately the strawberries just didn't cope with the warm weather on Friday and even though I'd stored them in the fridge, they'd gone mouldy today when I went to put them in the lunch I was preparing for tomorrow :-( And they looked lovely and big and juicy too :-(
What are you looking at? Avocado with lemon juice to keep it green, cherry tomatoes, organic mayo for the chicken dippers, raspberry friande, homemade chicken dippers (weren't a hit hot for dinner but went down a treat cold for lunch), more tomatoes and some cannelini beans.
What are you looking at? Valentine's Day lunch - red pepper hearts, broccoli, edamame, prunes, fabulous blueberry and banana pancakes, maple syrup, a couple of heart-shaped prezels, and some cut up cold organic sausage from the night before. Note: The heart-shaped pancakes cause me considerable heart-ache - untouched as I was informed that food that looks like hearts is mainly girl food! I have some round ones in the freezer so will try again with more "masculine" shaped pancakes!!! They really were yummy and full of good things.
My easy go to for work days, super simple to put together for kitchen novices like myself! Avocado, pico de gallo, cannelini beans (black beans also work in a pinch!), quinoa and a dreassing made of cilantro and fresh lime juice!
Yay lunch again!!!
I'm in my new job now, so can bring lunches again - may be bitty for a while as I'm being taken out to lunch a couple of times in these first couple of weeks, but oh it feels so good to have my little lunchbox in use again!

Taquitos Dorados Appetizer
4 crispy chicken tacos on lettuce with guacamole
A taquito (Spanish pronunciation: [taËkito], literally Spanish for "small taco"), tacos dorados, rolled taco, or flauta (Spanish pronunciation: [Ëflauta], literally Spanish for "flute") is a Mexican food dish most often consisting of a small rolled-up tortilla and some type of filling, including beef, cheese or chicken. The filled tortilla is crisp-fried. The dish is often topped with condiments such as sour cream and guacamole. Corn tortillas are generally used to make taquitos; the dish is more commonly known as flautas when they are larger than their taquito counterparts, and can be made with either flour or corn tortillas although using corn is more traditional. In some areas, such as New Mexico, taquito refers not to the rolled-up tortilla dish, but rather a smaller version of the taco.

Finally a bento with a story and some color! It's leftovers from the Lebanese place that we frequent.
I've been dying to use my little oni demon (japanese ogre) picks. They're so cute. Looks like they bagged the big one on their most recent hunting trip...now everybody's invited to the barbecue.

Bit of a crappy lunch for tomorrow but I'm not in the mood. After a brilliant first day at my new job, my mum told me when she came over to go for our walk that last night Beau, our dog had been put down. I'm devastated. He was a lovely German Shepherd - proper black and tan colouring and a rescue and we'd had him for ten years. Even after I moved out I saw him loads because I used to look after him when mum and dad were away and every time I went to see them. RIP pup. Now I'm crying again.
What are you looking at? Watermelon, cream cheese and celery boats, fabulous organic wholemeal seeded roll with roast beef, tomato, avocado and a trace ammount of mayo. Red peppers and something that we only do once in a while because of the packaging - a yakult.
The Alliance for a Healthier Generation's Youth Advisory Board members enjoy a healthy meal. An agreement with industry leaders, brokered by the Alliance, will bring healthier school meals to more than 30 million students.

Try our simple, tasty and healthy lunch after an hour of cardio and strength training. Yes, of course it’s vegan. We layered toasted double fiber whole grain bread with traditional hummus, organic avocados and slightly warmed organic tomatoes. The heat within the tomatoes helps release the antioxidant lycopene which in turn protects against prostate cancer in men. We served with a Japanese sweet potato and a medley of sautéed collard greens, spinach, kale, beets, onions and Shiitake mushrooms. So, this meal covers each macronutrient including healthy fats, complex cards and plant-based protein. Eat clean and enjoy!

I went to London on the weekend and so all of today's lunch is from the Harrod's food hall, the deli section. I don't know calories right now, but I'll look online to get an idea!
