On leaving Geiranger on route 63 you come across this highland plateau with its typical bare surface rocky structures. Amazing contrast with the greens in the background. This is what makes Norway so great in my eyes!
Norway, a stunningly beautiful country. Around every corner a chance for a scenic image, forcing me from time to time to stop every kilometer to get out of my car, sometimes with screeching brakes, and sometimes forcing me to curse because there was no place to stop.
Lovely valleys, bare mountains and cold winds, snow packs, glaciers, beautiful lakes, and then there are the enchanting fjords that never stop to amaze. The most beautiful country of Europe, for me no doubt about that, with only one minor aspect, which is the weather. During my month of traveling I only had 4 really nice days, the rest of the time clouds, rain, and very changeable! Still no regret, and I will go back to make even more than the 3500 pictures that I took this time.
Another very active vacation that took me to the south west up to Trondheim in a sort of triangle between Oslo- trondheim and Bergen with the whole route visible here (www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153668247101759&set...).
The fishing vessel 'Charlene A' heading out to begin a full day of fishing. I was speaking with the crew and they are usually on the water for 12-13 hours. This area like many others gets shrouded in fog this time of year but the fog never stops the crew from heading out.

Portal Falls is located at Mt Whitney the highest peak in the Sierra Nevada range as well as the contiguous United states at 14,505 feet. Whitney portal Road that takes adventures up the mountain dead ends at a campground, picnic area, two waterfalls, and trails that traverse Mt. Whitney. The area is a beautiful place and was exceptionally cooler than the temperatures at lower elevations, we are experiencing triple digit weather right now. Wish I could have stayed there instead of heading for home.
Commuters on U.S. Highway 2 in Kalispell, Montana rush home on the evening of Jan. 30, 2018 as a Mission Mountain Railroad local follows suit, heading north to Columbia Falls after delivering some cars to Kalispell.
For years the one thing that has eluded me is GP9's on the mainline. Besides the #109 in Helena, there wasn't much opportunity, even though MRL's 7 GP9's see heavy service daily. Glad to be able to finally scratch that itch. Heading back from Trident to get out of the way of an eastbound, the former GN passenger engine sure looks good.
heading out, nearing the top of my driveway to head on off the property for a ride. The trees along my driveway had the best color I've seen in at least a couple years. Best of views in my opinion.
After my ride, it started raining here and rained like crazy. It was great.
A typical cloudy late September day is in order, as Canadian National's northbound Waukesha turn, L510 departs Slinger for Shops Yard. The clouds were a saving grace however, to keep the backlight under control as I catch them approaching the Arthur Road bridge with a fine looking and sounding consist.

Heading to Town on HWY 99, generally looking North, the side of the road blurring by, farmers fields and North Shore mountains in the distance.
This time as a passenger, I can take a few shots.
