There are 4 clips behind the light switch that allow it to be pushed backward.

Selling these, so it's only a matter of time before someone asks for real pictures. Figured I'd make them pretty, or as close to that as cheap paper, wireless flash and the floor would allow. :)

Center console with the cupholder panel removed. (Snaps, lift straight up with E-brake raised)

What this thing really is continues to be debated by misc collectors/experts online. Might not be a National despite having the decal. Who knows... :) It has the neck, headunit, and body of a dobro, the resonating cover of a dobro, and the same sort of pickup/inside bits as were used in a 1930's prototype electric dobro bass tenor, stamped around 25 numbers off of my father's model. Sound sample on YouTube.

My father's possible 1930s resonating mandolin from National Reso-Phonic, restrung and in the first stages of cleaning. It has a wonderful sound. Especially when it is hooked up to an amp.

James installs a Sony AXV-AX100 headunit into his Daihatsu Cuore on July 25th, 2019.

Top of a 2005 WRX head unit main PCB, with a Leptronix auxiliary-input add-on board taped to the AM transmitter.

I didn't take this! My very talented wife has a handy studio setup for taking product shots like this, and since I'm incredibly lazy, I deferred to her. :) She's over at muddybootsphotography.blogspot.com/ if you're curious about her work.

James upgrades the headunit in Blake's 2007 VW Polo GTI 9N using a Sony XAV-AX100 headunit at James' house on November 12th, 2018.

Then undo the two bolts in the long central pocket that are holding the centre of the dash panel.

Then at one end firmly pull / prise it towards you.

There are cables clipped into 12v lighter sockets, Towing switch & the Pasenger Seat Airbag Disactivation switch that need to be disconnected

The fiddley bit is getting the console past the steering wheel indicator & grear selector ... My dash is cracked below the dials so by Putting the trans in 2 I can jiggle it clear. (The Haines Manual say remove the wheel / airbag etc).

I have probably had the dash on & off 10 times already ... It is reasonably robust.

At night, the LCD color matches my car's gauges exactly. The colors are completely customizable.

To pop the dash off just undo the two bolts holding each knee panel on and pull / prise it off.

This is my 1990 Miata 5spd. I bought it this summer for $825 as something to drive around while fixing my '85 BMW. It has 188,000 miles on the original engine/trans and everything seems to be working pretty well. The previous owner performed a number of modifications on the car, including:

Low Profile Headlights

Glass rear window in soft-top

15" Alloys with Yokohama Avid Tires

Racing Stripe Vinyl Decals

Team Voodoo Decals

Driving Lights mounted below bumper

K&N Cone Filter

Strut Tower Brace

Aftermarket alarm

Sony Black-Face Headunit (not sure of model)

800 Watt Sony X-Plod Amp

Diamond Component Speaker System

Custom Fiberglass Headunit Surround

Fiberglass Hardtop (not sure if this is aftermarket or factory)

The DC-DC power supply was originally going to be installed near the PC, but I found I had room for it inside the head unit, Plus most of the wires are already located in the headunit, and it is cooled by the A/C system.

The power supply is a Carnetix P1900
