The chief beauty about time is that you cannot waste it in advance. The next year, the next day, the next hour are lying ready for you, as perfect, as unspoiled, as if you had never wasted or misapplied a single moment in all your life. You can turn over a new leaf every hour if you choose.

I have long ago accepted that I am a little crazy and a little weird. It wasn't that exciting a revelation though. Turns out everyone is.

Another one from my crocus shoot last week.
I have posted two photos of this scene in sequence ... this one ... a telephoto capture at 200mm and the other at 62mm. It was, of course, not a devil moon at all but really quite beautiful .... poetic license and all that and any excuse to include a link to a Creedence Clearwater song. :)

Hello dear friends.
I´m on my feet again , slowly , slowly, I'll be back.
A lot of training right now, and it's hard to sit at the computer.
But I'm glad that finally I'll soon have two healthy knees to go with it.
Thanks for all the encouraging greetings.
I have seen one (and only one) of these Katydids in our yard each year for the past five years, but I heard it every night. This summertime visitor happily munched leaves in the large locust tree in our backyard. The tree was removed this year, and I imagine the source of most of the insects in our yard will be gone as well. (Honey Locust trees attract a profusion of aphids, leafhoppers, lacewings, katydids--well any type of sucking or chewing insect that eats plants).
Broad-winged Katydid (Microcentrum rhombifolium).
We are having a nice wet spring this year, and that translates to snow in the mountains. We went and shot Mt. Hood in the lower light, it had a little pink in the clouds and the sun highlighted the top of the mountain.
Mount Hood is located approximately 90 minutes outside of Portland on the border between Clackamas and Hood River counties. Mount Hood stands at 11,239 feet (3,425 meters). It is the highest point and mountain peak in the state of Oregon, and the second most climbed mountain in the world (second only to Japan’s holy Mt. Fujiyama).
We literally walked out of Timberline Lodge, at Mt Hood, up a small slope and got this great vantage point shot.
I have a grandcat and a granddog and even a cat nephew. But I have no cute face shots of my grands that were taken by me, and I'm pretty sure my sister will be posting a photo of my feline nephew. So here is Rufus, my Connecticut neighbor's cat. We called him "the philosopher cat" because he would sit on his porch for hours staring in one direction, seemingly contemplating life on Alewife Cove. He's been gone for several years now, but I still think about him often. And he looks a lot like my grandcat! ^-^
Have a wonderful day all fine Flickr friends.
Photo and texture my own, the window is from an other shot from my archive. The rose is laying on a hand embroidered tablecloth. You can se the details in large.
Residents have been flocking to this tropical island paradise for its beautiful views and innovative wave system for years. A great place to relax and listen to the tide crash on the shore.
