This Snow bunting (Plectrophenax nivalis) had a moment of stretching between eating while we were watching.

This is what it was like for most of the afternoon today , taken with the TZ60 and what you see is what it was .
Just before it turned like this there was a brief showing of the VERY red sun - missed that !
Apparently all down to the Hurricane Ophelia , in the South East we missed the terrible winds that hit Ireland and Wales but had this side effect . The colour was due to the winds coming up from the south carrying sands from the Sahara and smke from the awful fires in Portugal and Spain .
Very apt that this all took place exactly 30 years after The Great Storm of 1987.
It was all very Surreal !!
Canada Geese are extremely successful at living in human-altered areas, they have proven able to establish breeding colonies in urban and cultivated areas, which provide food and few natural predators, and are well known as a common park species. Their success has led to them often being considered a pest species, because of their depredation of crops and issues with their noise, droppings, aggressive territorial behavior, and habit of begging for food (caused by human hand feeding)

This is a chair that belonged to my late Grandma Clifton. I discovered this week that the rocking motion helped to settle my stomach, so I've been spending a lot of time in it. Roxy has never shown any interest in it before, but now all of a sudden she's been spending a lot of time in it too, we we are sharing. Maybe it is because I have repositioned it by the back windows and she's just enjoying the view.
I was so excited to see a Hummingbird in my mom's backyard this week-we only have the one kind Ruby Throated Hummingbird-and I don't get to see them much
I know it's not the bestest photo but it's a Hummer!

Finally have the long awaited, (for me anyway) collaboration that was done in the flesh. No cloning.....The lovely Rochelle happens to live right in my backyard (not really, but close enough).
Her photography is amazing and she is the sweetest person..
We spent all day today putting a few bits together and had a blast doing it!!!
