Siberian Crab Apple (Malus Baccata).
I posted a shot of this tree taken in October when it was covered in berries. This most recent shot shows there is one lonely leaf and a few berries left. I imagine the birds will have eaten them by now.
I have been buying a lot, under the guise of "they're for my cats", but my girls already have a billion toys, and they're not really interested in most of them. But I still keep buying them ... 🐘

Have you ever had one of those mornings where everything just seems to fall into to place?--a morning when the coffee seems a bit richer, the spirit feels a bit lighter, and the sun seems to tickle all that it touches with gentle laughter. Well okay, this scene wasn't the best thing I've ever experienced but it was light years ahead of whatever was in second place.
Happy Fence Friday everyone.

I was watching them fly in from a distance, weaving in and out along the shore and just hoping they would land reasonably close!
"I thought I heard my name."
"You did."
You and I have never met, many times before. I'm glad you listened this time.

The smell of the rain wakes up and starts running all over the city, like a playful kid. The scent runs and runs and goes through the buildings, through the windows, through the memories, through the dreams of those who remember themselves playing in the rain, splashing the light, cheating time.
Small bird activity has dropped off lately. Perhaps the red berries of the Madrone trees are finished. A Sharp-Shinned Hawk (Accipter striatus) flies over. A small sleek woodland Hawk that feeds on small birds, the occasional small mammal, lizards and insects. Mendocino County, North California
On closer inspection the male Snow Bunting in the middle has been ringed. I have never seen one with a ring before.
I'm no expert, but wasn't aware that this is done with SB's in the UK. If there is an expert out there I would love to know where in the world he has come from.
Sky walk at Dolni Morava - the project, which is not only in Europe but also unique in the world, grew up within 6 months near the cottage "Slaměnka" and you can now have a look the Morava river valley from a bird's eye view. Source: www.dolnimorava.cz/_en/sky-walk/

I have been lucky enought to shoot with the brand new Sigma lenses for Fujifilm X-Mount, which have just been announced today!
This first image was taken with the f1.4 16mm DC DN Contemporary lens.
The other two lenses announced today were the 30mm and 56mm, both f1.4 lenses.
Feel free to ask questions in the comments, and I will be sharing more content taken with these three lenses, and blog pieces later in the week!

You probably have come across this term. Wikipedia would give you a variety of definitions and explanations. From the perspective of the UK and, important to clarify, from my own point of view, I would say that what is being talked about is a struggle for power over public opinion and the control of the media. Political interest groups use "hot-button" issues (racism, gender roles, Brexit, immigration, the interpretation of colonial history etc.) as a technique to polarise society and distinguish between "us" and "them". This is not a debate in the interest of truth. It is all about bullying and pushing certain agendas through. In other words, culture wars have intentional consequences. When a public TV channel with critical news reporting is being "privatised" or when the public BBC is threatened with a redrafting of its charter, you know that very likely culture wars are involved. I have just returned from an epic trip with fellow photographers Antony Spencer & Aaron Bennett
It was amazing to experience and explore Iceland, We had mild activity most nights and an amazing 20 minute display on Tuesday. We also had pretty decent weather for sunset and sun rise. All in all a great trip and it was amazing to finally see the northern lights!
It really is a challenge photographing the Northern lights with problems like composing a shot in the dark to focus and noise issues it can get quite stressful especially when you have had no sleep for sometime and you can no longer feel your toes or feet.
I made this image with a Canon 5d ii with my Nikon 24mm ƒ1.4 G Lens with an Adapter to make it all work.
As the lens dose not communicate with the camera you can ignore the EXIF data for this shot apart from the shutter speed and ISO.
