It's harvest time around here and you can see tractors and various other machinery working day and nighttime. As long as the wheather is dry the harvest has to be taken in. So in this case, nighttime is the right time for the farmers.

Mackinac Island is an island and resort area covering 3.8 square miles in Lake Huron, between Michigan’s Upper and Lower Peninsulas. Motorized vehicles have been prohibited on the island since 1898 and travel on the island is either by foot, bicycle, or horse-drawn carriage. There are teams of horses everywhere as they transport all the supplies that arrive from the mainland for delivery to the hotels, restaurants and homes. The entire island is listed as a National Historic Landmark and is well known for its famous Victorian Grand Hotel, Lilac Festival and fudge! The last customer is barely out of the door before she kicks off her mules with a groan and wiggle her toes. Her relief is short lived though as her boss says she needs to put her shoes back on to clear up and close down the bar which will take a least another hour

2015 was not a joyful year for me: I tried to find some way of distracting me. So I spent all my free time in making 1:6 miniatures for my momoko dolls, that's way I was so hardworking and creative! When I'm busy in a new project I'm so absorbed in designing and making it that I forget everyday matters. I made 12 complicated momoko creations in 12 months: art is good for the soul, for sure.

Ratna Prasad Prajapati, the owner of KP Brick Industry, invited me for tea and told me how he started small 30 years ago and now employs 400 men and women to produce high-quality bricks. He said the cheap competition from China and India makes life difficult for them. Could I take photos on the premises?
