How are all the beautiful bricks of Bhakatpur made, and who works in the brick factories around the city? Ratna Prasad Prajapati, the owner of KP Brick Industry, invited me for tea and told me how he started small 30 years ago and now employs 400 men and women to produce high-quality bricks. He said the cheap competition from China and India makes life difficult for them. Could I take photos on the premises? Of course, he was delighted by my interest! #nepal #brickfields #hardwork #tradition #bhaktapur

A hardworking team of Americorps volunteers has joined the Red Cross in South Carolina to assist with Hurricane Helene relief efforts.

Americorps members (L to R) Cassie Homitz and Moriah Weeks are pictured sorting clean-up supplies with their team on a recent afternoon at the Red Cross supply depot in Greenville. The hundreds of kits they assembled with tarps, garbage bags, work gloves, flashlights and other essential items are on their way to North and South Carolina residents in areas hardest-hit by the hurricane.

Cassie, Moriah and the Americorps team have been staying in a Red Cross shelter in Greenville and spending long days driving supply trucks and helping the Red Cross with tasks to help get local communities on the way to recovery after Hurricane Helene.

Thank you, Americorps! We are grateful for your help.
