Bracebridge is the unofficial waterfall capital of Muskoka attracting people to the area since before it became a village in 1875. Settlers in those early days knew that the only power other than that of their hands or horses was the harnessed power of water and Bracebridge has this in spades. Using this water power first the villagers established a lumber industry based on pine, hemlock and hardwood which was in demand by shipbuilders and a byproduct of clearing land for living. This shot captures the Silver Bridge and the dam falls of Bracebidge early one damp morning it also captures a sense of community I had not seen everywhere in my Northern Ontario travels.
As you look along the railings of this shot of the towns most prized possession you will see an orange glow, this is because of ribbons fluttering in the mists. A young Indigenous man started tying ribbons in memorium of the children lost to Canada’s residential Schools, the town joined in and helped add to the total until there are over 4100 ribbons for the official death toll of Native children (it is suspected to be double this or more). We have a lot be proud of as Canadians with the adventurous hardworking spirit of our settler ancestors and a lot to be ashamed of as well with how we treated the occupants of the land we settled then and now.

Kaptai Lake is the largest lake in Bangladesh. It is located in the Kaptai Upazila under Rangamati District of Chittagong Division. The lake was created as a result of building the Kaptai Dam on the Karnaphuli River, as part of the Karnaphuli Hydro-electric project.

So this hand belongs to my beautiful wife, who, like the many around the world, remain to be the hub of the family.
Here, she manages to capture a minute's worth of practice, playing her music, before attending to the many wonderful things she does for myself and the children...
I was finally at a "friendly place" for a video/photo shoot, and while everyone was at lunch, I took some time to shoot around the shop. These are some gears, obviously, that they are making for a project. I am always blown away by people who can manufacture something like these gears and not think twice about it. If I get a chance, will post more from this shoot, but got to finish their project first. Will be holed up in a dark editing room for the next week or so.

Bardzo pracowity dzięciołek. Coś wydłubywał z tej gałęzi (albo rzeźbił) bo to trwało chyba ok. 1/2 godziny jego krzątanie. Ja poszedłem w pola a jak wracałem to on dalej pracował. /
Very busy Woodpecker. Something he was picking up from this branch (or carves) because it probably took about half an hour of his working. I went on the fields and as I returned he continued to work.
