We had extremely dense fog the entire morning and into the early afternoon a few days ago - an uncommon event around here. About 1 pm, a tiny bit of sunlight started to break through as the fog finally began to clear. Believe it or not, once the fog moved out, it was completely clear and cloudless the entire rest of the day, staying true to the all-over-the-place weather of the Texas Panhandle.

Yesterday I had a great photography day. Almost every shot was a keeper and I was getting everything composed the way I wanted.

Handheld shot - taken at Confederation Park, Calgary on a warm fall evening during the pandemic. The seats were off limits to visitors. People still thronged in numbers to enjoy the bright fall foliage.

Full moon rising over the hills behind Limantour Beach, so bright that it could be photographed without a tripod or long exposure.

Happy Bench Monday!

Lovely to see so much life in a public pond. With quite high banks it was quite a challenge to get low to the water for this shot. Camera and lens very close to a dunking.

I thank you so much in advance for your visits, faves and comments that are always very appreciated!

A group of women sit beside the waters of the holy pond as the lights come on inside the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar. The most magical time of the day.

I cannot express the sense of peace and tranquility that envelops you as you sit here listening to the holy chantings and kirtans (hymns), all the while mesmerized by the beauty of this holy shrine.

Again a handheld shot.

Have a wonderful new week dear friends.

I walked out into my backyard last Tuesday not long after the sun had set. I was alittle surprised to look up and see quite a brightly lit moon. It looked really clear even though I live in smoggy and someimes foggy Santa Monica, CA. I decided to take a handheld image using my $500 Olympus 300mm lens (600mm equivalent). The result was not too bad I think. I looked up some info for that day and found the following.

The moon phase for October 4th, 2022 was the Waxing Gibbous phase.

The moon was 8.66 days old and 67.81% illuminated with a tilt of 99.173°. The approximate distance from Earth to the moon was 369,341.95 km and the moon sign is Aquarius.

With luck humanity will soon return to the moon and perhaps even beyond.

I deserve to go to HELL...

Handheld long(er) exposure. Once again managed to leave my tripod at home.

Have a wonderful day, folks! :)
