I can't remember exactly how I came to have this silver necklace in my possession but I found it amongst the pens, pencils glue etc from my work desk drawer when I unpacked after I retired. I assume that I found it in my practical classroom/kitchen after the students had left and put it in the drawer to keep it safe until the owner came back to collect it. This often happened with rings and watches but I don't know why a necklace would have been taken off when cooking. Anyway, it is rather lovely and appears to be handcrafted from silver and it was really difficult to photograph interestingly.

I made these luxurious, handmade, handcrafted, classic, one of a kind, woman’s earrings, which measure a total of 2 inches. The dangle is 1.5 inches long and is made of genuine, black onyx and white beads and shimmering white freshwater pearls. The dangle hangs from 14kt gold-filled French hook ear wires. As with all my earrings, you can choose ear posts or others types of ear studs/wires, even for non-pierced ears. I make them one at a time to ensure they are unique and of high quality. In folklore cultured or freshwater pearls are considered to offer the power of love, money, protection, and luck. Pearls are thought to give wisdom through experience, to quicken the laws of karma and to cement engagements and love relationships. They are thought to keep children safe. Early Chinese myths told of pearls falling from the sky when dragons fought. Ancient legend says that pearls were thought to be the tears of the gods and the Greeks believed that wearing pearls would promote marital bliss and prevent newlywed women from crying.
The inspiration for this showcase dress comes from the classic 1950s movie stars, such as Audrey Hepburn. The design evolved from a number of hand drawn sketches, and maquette’s, before the gown was hand crafted in my studio at The Storey in Lancaster.
Neat seam lines are cut into a contemporary and elegant silhouette – a sleek classic design. I introduced an exquisite twist to the design by adding a lower ‘v’ back and an oversized bow detail. The gown is a mix of silk dutchess satin and silk crepe cut on the empire line and falling into a soft a-line with a small train. This dress can be recreated in many different fabrics and colours and other design details can be added if preferred.

Two large side doors open to reveal handcrafted Maple/Walnut hook bars to hang necklaces, ties and scarves. Lid has etched mirror framed with egg&dart moulding and soft down stay mechanism. Trays are custom divided to owner's collection of jewelry, make-up, etc. Also contains hidden compartment for special items.

Copper washer links were hand-hammered, dapped and oxidized. Headpins of copper were balled, and then used as links. Hand-forged and heat-patinaed earwires of copper.
Helped a friend craft this necklace for her sister's 70th birthday. Each quarter is surrounded by a family members' birthstone.
