This was my attempt to make a Shootsac Cover. I always make my own stuff to set myself apart from the crowd. I've made my own yoga mat bags, baby slings, camera straps and now my Shootsac cover.
I got this one completed during my son's 2.5 hour nap. That includes trying to figure out the pattern, cutting it out, sewing, breaking a needle and attaching the velcro. In all I spet $8.98 on the fabric and velcro. I could probably get 3 covers out of the .5 of the yard I bought.
I am planning on making a cover with a flap that will also go over the other side of the Shootsac. I've heard from some people that the neoprene material can ruin your clothes so I would be nice to have a flap that covered those pockets as well. I was also thinking about adding a zippered pocket to the front flap that could carry a pen and some business cards. I will need to piece that together and will take some additional time to think of the pattern.
I love my Shootsac and will probably buy some of their covers when I fall in love with one. But it gives me true satisfaction that I can have something unique that I made myself.
My husband made this violin by hand. He carved it out of solid pieces of wood using a thumb plane, chisels, and scrapers.
