A child's handprint in a Galena sidewalk.
This is not new concrete which makes you wonder how old that hand is by now.
I don't think she knew I took this. She was too busy being uncomfortable with Lou and the other girls.
Okay non sequitur, well, not really. Here goes, Brain freeze. Why? Okay, I was looking at her nails and thinking, they look like little berries; that led to Pinkberry (frozen yogurt) and last time I ate there Steve got brain freeze. So while he was clutching his head in pain I was eating all of our frozen treat. Which leads us to....I don't get brain freeze. Weird right? I have actually tried to evoke this pain. Gulping down slurpees and such, but all that happens is my tongue goes numb and the back of my throat hurts. I decided that my throat hurting was not on the same level as this head pain people seem to have. Or else they are WAY overreacting. Anyone else a freak like me?
Each year a special event called makar sankranti takes place to mark the movement of the sun into the belt capricorn. The state of Gurjarat and some surrounding areas celebrate this by flying and fighting kites called patang. The string they use to tether the patang is called manjha and coated with glass and dye, this is what their hands look like by the end of the day.
Hand prints on a utility pole in front of my friend TJ's old house. He said they've been always been there, since they moved in. And TJ and his dad moved into that house about 3 years ago. So I guess someone had some fun with white paint years ago. They obviously look like little kid's hand prints. I wonder whatever happened to the kids. For all we know, these could have been made 20 years ago.

I think the processing turned out a bit like a Silver Gelatin. Is that what I mean? I should really learn more about this photography stuff.
My first diptych. I was just testing out my new Photoshop, so I took pictures of my hands. I still have a few kinks to work out, obviously!
...but a warm heart?
I can never resist reaching out to touch hands with Dame Elisabeth Frink's 'Walking Madonna', in Salisbury's Cathedral Close!
I have tried to replicate the photo from www.flickr.com/photos/geertvanheusden/2498432597
I love his photo as it shows great contrast and has a personal meaning to me as my Grandpa enjoyed playing cards in his final years. thankfully I have contact with Grandpa's friends who still play cards, hence I was able to try and replicate the photo.
I took the original images in colour and converted them to black and white in Lightroom. I cropped and altered the lighting slightly to recreate a more similar effect.
