It’s crazy to think about how short technology life spans are before they are replaced with a newer, shinier model that advertisers tell us we MUST have. Take my iPod for instance: at one point I thought it was cool and new, which was followed by it being outdated and old… and finally it’s now old enough to be cool and “vintage”. This has all happened inside of 10 years. Pretty crazy. Damn you Apple!
This young couple are just the best people ever. They are the wonderful parents of two little boys and are endlessly fun, creative and respectful. Thanks Rachel, Travis and boys!
An illustrated guide of "Modern and Historical Typography", from 1948 by Imre Reiner. The first edition was published in 1944. The book has many fine examples of historic title pages, calligraphy, bookplates, labels, billheads and other ephemera, including some nice work of Reiner's as well.

Matte damar center. Single gild. Demonstration letter done by Bill Riedel. Bill was kind enough to give me a quick demonstration on glass gilding last week. Thanks Bill!!
This client wanted his old Ford truck lettered to look like it might have been done 50 years ago. I mixed up the paint with a bunch of clear and flattening paste to accentuate the strokes and give it a faded out look.
