I spent 2 days in bed lying in the dark. My eye was watering and the pain was so intense I started to get delusional. I finished a bottle of nyquil just to sleep it off and also put some ice on that devil eye. And later I was watching TV with one eye--it was interesting.
This picture has nothing to do with anything. I just use that halogen light for lighting sometimes so yeah.
1 500w halogen to the left, 1 cardboard box with sides cut out and lined with easel paper. 1 more 500w halogen will be added on the right.

One of our more adventurous DIY projects. We demo'd the sagging wet plaster ceiling in the living room, retaining the coved ceiling by using a RotoZip spiral saw around the perimeter to get a clean cut through the plaster and lathe. Then we installed 10 small halogen recessed lights, drywall, two wall switches and two wall sconces--all in four weekends. Weekend one - demolish; weekend two - wire; weekend three - install drywall. We hired someone to do the mudding. Then the following weekend we painted.

I must admit that i am a sucker for kitchen gadgets......and here's my latest friend !
She sits proudly in her little spot, and when put to work she does everything that a conventional oven does.....with less mess to clean afterwards !
As someone who prefers cooking (especially baking) with electric i am more than impressed with this little gem.
I finally decided to get myself a new wallet, the old one was hanging by a thread.

Exposición de pintura, iluminada por lámparas halógenas. El color del ambiente era naranja (tungsteno) y la sala demasiado grande como para iluminarla toda con flashes, así que teníamos que equilibrar tanto colores como intensidades.
Exposición de 1/20 de segundo para dejar que la luz ambiente haga todo el trabajo pesado. Un flash con paraguas traslúcido y flash full CTO a la izquierda del modelo para iluminarlo a él.
Logramos de este modo integrarlo perfectamente y obtener una imagen luminosa y neutra.
Realmente no se trata del autor. La autora, presente en la exposición, no quiso hacer de modelo y nos toco improvisar.
Experimenting with sidelighting using a 500W halogen worklight shot at high ISO, high shutter speed. Kinda difficult to drop the lemon and work my shutter, but the results were fun.
Halogen backside captured on Canon's 'thrifty fifty' mounted on a 36mm Kenko extension tube. The auto-focus hunts quite a bit with the extension tube so manual focusing for this shot.
If what this is doesn't come to you immediately, you're looking at the halogen gas tube of a Sylvania Silverstar headlight bulb. Size 9006.
After several years of service in my Prelude, it finally gave out. It gave out strong light up until the day it died. The amount of collective hours that i've used these bulbs flies in the face of the reviews that say that they don't last for more than a year.
I guess the problem is, people do not understand not to put their greasy little paws on the glass. The oil from the hands heats up rapidly and causes uneven thermal cycling and soon after, bulb failure.

Driver's rear door. You can see how moisture has gotten at the cardboard backing and warped it badly. All four door panels are varying shades of bad and all need replacing.
The halogen lights lend a blue eerie glow to this tree made of steel cables. To the human eye, the three looks grey with hints of green from the pin lights. The camera captures a very different surreal scene. ( Another of the fascinating displays at the Singapore Science Centre.)
Basic wiring diagram to convert a standard halogen headlight into a 35 Watt HID headlight, while adding a time delay before start up. This is used on a motorcycle that would normally turn on the headlamp when the key is turned to on, then shut if off while the starter is on, and then turn the light back on again when the engine is running.
