This piece, made of brass and glass (the red piece in the middle is made to look like a gemstone, but is glass), dates to the 1830s-1840s, and was worn to accentuate to hairstyles of the time - when women always, well almost always at least, kept their hair long and as an adult had it pinned up in intricate fashions. The label in the museum didn't clarify, but I think it is a Swedish piece.
On display at Nordiska museet (the Nordic museum), Stockholm.

Hi all~ I have been away for a while, will now hopefully slowly work myself back in here. I did take this picture a while ago and edited it over the last couple of days. This time its really heavily edited on the colors part as you can see when you look at the original picture.
I have been a sucker for Kimono/Yukata for ages, so i think i will take several pictures with the ones i have. Hope you enjoy the picture and the edit and i hope you are all well and happy even tho today was Friday 13th *shudders*

This Kimono is from Silvery.K And pretty much all my Kimonos are. i usually stay away from fat packs or Items that are not on sale but whenever Silvery.K puts one of these out i can't contain myself *shrugs* they are just so beautiful. Oh and that is a Maitreya fit worn with Jake here. I love the Gabriel Male Kimonos too but i wanted something fancy for Angel *giggle*
The golden flower Hairpin is from Tentacio and its soooo pwetty! It was on sale when i got it *happydances* I hope to get other colors later on since they look so good with the elegant Kimonos.
The Flower Haircomb is From Aii, i don't know if that was a cheapy from downstairs (10L or so) or a group gift. But i love it. its mod so i can fit the flower Colors and even tho its pre Mesh its still very Beautiful. Also the Extra Hair loops and knots on top is from Aii. They come in several pre made sets and single loops to mix them together as you like and all in one pack!

Work in progress: preparing mohair locks for wigs.
1. Dividing mohair in locks & grading by length.
2. Combing underhair out.
3. Combed locks.
4. Mohair locks in a weft ready for dyeing.
I prefer to buy raw hair & work on it by my own, because this way I completely control the process and the quality of ready locks.
I don't use wefts in wigs (sewing of 'roots' is too thick and coarse), I make them only for comfortable dyeing, and cut the locks off during wig making.

I relogged and when I came back in, SL re-dressed me...she/he/it thought I could use a pipe
and a blindfold UNDER my sunglasses....and a haircomb stuck into my scalp. Lovely.
I can't wear anything and.or put on any clothes or anything.I even cleared my cache.
No change.
This Ghost in the Machine is a bad dresser.

She's a rockabilly rebel! All of her small details are AMAZING!! Mattel keeps getting better and better with these dolls. She's definitely a favorite for me!! :D
Her mask is a haircomb (!) so it's easy to take on/off once you cut the plastic string that's wrapped around it. :)

Hair comb. This is my fourth MOC for the Iron Forge 2023 challenge - round one. Part SEED (required): any weapon for minifigures in shape and color that matches the SWORD category in the BRICKLINK inventory. Normally I hate doing this kind of MOC, but for the challenge I saw things done that after observing them I told myself that at that point I can do it too. For the teeth of the comb I used 14 identical swords. It's a shame I don't have enough hair to use it, but my daughter has tried it and said it works.
