In God’s eyes, whether a man is great or small, as long as he can listen to God’s word, obey God’s commandment and commission, cooperate with God’s work, and cooperate with God’s will and God’s plan, so that God’s will and God’s plan can be carried out smoothly and fulfilled, such a deed is worthy for God to remember and worthy for God to bless, worthy for God to bless. God treasures such a man, cherishes such a deed of his, and cherishes his kindness and his heart for God. This is God’s attitude.

It's October!! And it feels like it was March only last week.. where did time go? 😮
Only 2 more weeks until I will have my autumn holiday, so I'm looking forward to a week of down-time. 😊
So, here's another throwback to when I just got these fabulous red over-the-knee stiletto heeled boots. 🔥
Perfect for some shopping at the supermarket, eh? 😉

Gaudeamus Igitur Lyrics (Note: the last line of each verse should be repeated when sung.)
Gaudeamus igitur,
Juvenes dum sumus;
Post icundum iuventutem,
Post molestam senectutem
Nos habebit humus.
Let us therefore rejoice,
While we are young;
After our youth,
After a troublesome old age
The ground will hold us.
Vita nostra brevis est,
Brevi finietur;
Venit mors velociter,
Rapit nos atrociter;
Nemini parcetur.
Our life is brief,
It will shortly end;
Death comes quickly,
Cruelly snatches us;
No-one is spared.
Ubi sint qui ante nos
In mundo fuere?
Vadite ad superos,
Transite in inferos
Hos si vis videre.
Where are those who before us
Existed in the world?
You may go up to the gods,
You may cross into the underworld
If you wish to see them.
Vivat academia,
Vivant professores,
Vivat membrum quodlibet,
Vivat membra quaelibet;
Semper sint in flore!
Long live the university,
Long live the teachers,
Long live each male student,
Long live each female student;
May they always flourish!
Vivat et republica
Et qui illam regit.
Vivat nostra civitas,
Maecenatum caritas
Quae nos hic protegit.
Long live the state
And those who rule it.
Long live our city,
And the charity of benefactors
Which protects us here.
Vivant omnes virgines,
Faciles, formosae!
Vivant et mulieres,
Tenerae, amabiles,
Bonae, laboriosae.
Long live all young women,
Easy and beautiful!
Long live wives as well,
Tender, loveable,
Honest, hardworking.
Pereat tristitia,
Pereant osores.
Pereat diabolus,
Quivis antiburschius
Atque irrisores!
Perish sadness,
Perish haters.
Perish the devil,
Whoever is against the student fraternity,
As well those who mock us!
Quis confluxus hodie
Academicorum?
E longinquo convenerunt,
Protinusque successerunt
In commune forum.
Who has gathered now
Of the university?
They gather from long distances,
Immediately joining
Our common forum.
Vivat nostra societas,
Vivant studiosi!
Crescat una veritas,
Floreat fraternitas,
Patriae prosperitas.
Long live our fellowship,
Long live the studious!
May truth and honesty thrive,
Flourish with our fraternity,
And our homeland be prosperous.
Alma Mater floreat,
Quae nos educavit;
Caros et commilitones,
Dissitas in regiones
Sparsos, congregavit.
May our Alma Mater thrive,
That which educated us;
Dear ones and comrades,
Who we let scatter afar,
Let us assemble.

Four years ago, I felt very defeated! Today, after 5 nerve-wracking days,.. I actually feel like I can breath again! 😉
Obviously, life went on and I did not sit still. I became more active politically.. joined a party. And now that I'm in education again.. I can actually have a positive (imho) on the youth! 👍
I understand that there might be followers here who don't share my political views and for the most part, that's fine. We can agree to disagree about the tax rate or something like that.
But we cannot agree to disagree on human rights (especially for minorities and LGBTQ) and just plainly.. a better world!
#DecencyMatters ❤️
I wish you all peace.. and I will be drinking myself silly this weekend! 😀🍸

It's Friday.. the workweek is over and the Dutch team already qualified for the 1/8 finals of the European Championship! 😃

October already.. it seems 2022 is on our doorstep and I haven't even fully processed 2020! 😮
I'm enjoying my autumn holiday now (one of the few perks I have as a teacher). And besides doing a lot of resting.. I have also been doing lots of editing of my photos and videos.
In August, I visited a castle in the south of the Netherlands. And because we had a very disappointing cold wet summer, I opted for a maxi dress.
Check out my new YouTube video and post on my blog.
It was quite magical walking around in that castle.. so beautiful!!
I know owning a castle like that is very expensive and not very practical.. but I'd love to dream. 😊

Interviews and novels.
About my book.
I published a book in old days.
At that time, I was uploading my interview on the net on the net.
That Japanese and English.
I will make it public for free.
Details were explained to the Amazon site.
How to write a novel.
How to take pictures.
Distance to the work.
They all have a common item.
I made a sentence about what I felt, and left it.
I hope that my text can be read by many people.
Thank you.

There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One, to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other, to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days, staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow, a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left, I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left, how many times did I depend too much on her, doubt her, envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However, I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me, a guy filled with ambiguous, unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

Excerpt from www.1stunitedchurch.ca/all-about-first.html:
In 1834 a Methodist chapel was built on Stanley Street. During the rebellion of 1837, this chapel was occupied by soldiers and some years later burned.
In 1871, active efforts were made to build a new church. On March 30, 1873 when the building was completed at a contract price of $18,000.00, dedicatory services were held. The style of the church was semi-gothic, with a tower and spire on the southeast corner. The spire rose to a height of 132 feet. In the winter of 1876, a church bell was set up into the high tower. In the spring of 1878, a fine pipe organ was built into the south gallery. On March 21, 1895 First Church was partially destroyed by fire. The work of reconstruction was immediately and vigorously undertaken and in December of that year, it was ready for occupancy. A renovation program was undertaken in 1919, which made it the beautiful place of worship which delighted people for the next 27 years.
About 10:45 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 1946 First Church was discovered to be on fire. The city Fire Department fought valiantly but finally the bell fell from its high tower with one mourning knell. The bell, which was badly cracked and damaged when it fell from the top of the tower, was melted down and cast into 1500 miniature bells. The bells were offered at $3.00 each. The day after the fire, the Official Board was convened and it was voted to rebuild. The fire was a total loss, with the exception of the brass baptismal font and most of a set of dishes in the old kitchen.
The Famous Players Corporation graciously offered the use of the Capitol Theatre, located on Talbot Street, rent and heat free. After $800 in decoration the congregation had a presentable church home for two years.
On March 5, 1950, almost four years to the day after the disastrous fire, the beautiful stone edifice was dedicated to the glory of God and use of the people by the Moderator of the United Church, the Very Rt. Rev. William Brewing, D.D. With the church formally open and in use, the next project was to pay off the mortgage. The total indebtedness of $275,000.00 was cleared by the autumn of 1955, and $10,000.00 was already in the bank towards the next project. In 1956 the church Board was authorized by the congregation to get construction underway for the first addition which would be the Christian Education Building. The new section would include a recreation hall, church office, church parlour, and additional Sunday School rooms. The second and final addition of the Christian Education building was completed in the fall of 1962. This was a five-room addition constructed over the recreation hall.
The new church was constructed of Ontario Sandstone and trimmed with Indiana cut stone. The stately Norman Tower with its triple gothic openings and restful louvres and tracery, rises about 80 feet from the ground. The pew and chancel furniture are of fine grain oak and ash, finished in pleasing light tone and modestly ornamented with carefully selected symbolism. The new church stands in sharp contrast both the simple one room chapel of the early days and the semi-gothic Victorian church totally destroyed by fire. The sanctuary, completed in cathedral style, differs from most other United Churches.
Over the years First Church has undergone many upgrades, such as a new roof, and accessibility lift and new carpeting in the Narthex and Sanctuary. The church has come a long way from the small one room chapel on Stanley Street to the beautiful gothic building that stands today on the corner of Curtis and St. George Streets.

The Bohemian Waxwing (Bombycilla garrulus) is a starling-sized passerine bird that breeds in the northern forests of Eurasia and North America. It has mainly buff-grey plumage, black face markings and a pointed crest. Its wings are patterned with white and bright yellow, and some feather tips have the red waxy appearance that give this species its English name. Females are similar to males, although young birds are less well-marked and have few or no waxy wingtips. Although the Bohemian Waxwing's range overlaps those of the Cedar and Japanese Waxwings, it is easily distinguished from them by size and plumage differences.
The breeding habitat is coniferous forests, usually near water. Many birds desert their nesting range in winter and migrate farther south. In some years, large numbers of Bohemian Waxwings irrupt well beyond their normal winter range in search of the fruit that makes up most of their diet.
Waxwings can be very tame in winter, entering towns and gardens in search of food, rowan berries being a particular favourite. They can metabolise alcohol produced in fermenting fruit, but can still become intoxicated, sometimes fatally. Other hazards include predation by birds of prey, infestation by parasites and collisions with cars or windows. The Bohemian Waxwing's high numbers and very large breeding area mean that it is classified as being of least concern by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. (wikipedia)
This was a small part of a flock of 120 birds seen recently in a housing estate in Lucan, South County Dublin.
