Yesterday, our male mail man (how redundant is that?) delivered my new shoes from Payless.

In his State of the Union speech, President Obama said, "I do not accept second place for the United States of America." But the truth is that when it comes to the clean energy economy, the United States isn’t even coming in second. Amidst growing concerns about clean-energy jobs going overseas, this conference will discuss what it will take for the U.S. to regain its competitiveness in the global clean energy economy.
The Apollo Alliance and Center for American Progress will bring together policymakers, academics, business and labor leaders, and other experts to discuss what policies will support the United States in becoming not only a consumer of clean-energy technologies but also a leading producer of them.

How heavy is a cloud? by Giselle Beiguelman, is a multimedia installation comprising video, audio, stamps, and photography that occupies Galpão VB prompting the audience to venture into a mysterious, unknown territory of family inheritance. Born into a Polish-Jewish family, Giselle Beiguelman morphs into a traveler of memories for this project, visiting her family’s home country and questioning herself, investigating landscapes and her own past, revising a traceless history, and ultimately creating a lyrically-charged piece of stark images. How heavy is a cloud? was commissioned by Culture.pl as part of a program to promote Polish culture in Brazil in 2016.
A friend still has her first cellphone as a memento. That's my current Nokia beside it - a tenth of the volume and ten times the standby and talk times.
These are the Toms that lost their soles when I tried washing them last year. I cut new soles out of my thin sheet rubber and glued them on.
But the glue hasn't held, except a little at the toes (so far). My solution has been to staple the soles to the heels. When the toes come undone, I'll staple them also. They droop, but that doesn't bother me!
