My first Trilobite beetle (Platerodrilus ruficollis, formerly Duliticola hoiseni - Lycidae ), and I thought it was just another firefly larva. How ironic. Just a few weeks ago, I found a firefly larva and I thought it was a Trilobite. LOL.

This is a bit about how I keep track of all my dolls and their things. I really love identifying dolls...to me it's like solving a mystery. In this video, I also include some of my tips for doll identification--I hope they help anyone out who is looking to research dollies.

There are also dozens of collectors on Flickr who dedicated a lot of time making awesome guides about many doll types. Many of these websites are starting points, so you will have to do additional research on your own. The more research you do, the more familiar you will become with certain types of dolls, and the easier doll identification will be for you! Best of luck identifying :)
I Quickly took a shot of Johnny, standing there while he was waiting for us. He kept saying how long are you going to be. He gets a little anxious he hates waiting.

Life is a part mix of fears, aspirations and worries. At the end of the day it is just about being tired and sadly satisfied. Do you get to understand the meaning of existence?
At Olavayapu Ferry Point. -- The boats are still the ones with oars. Life is still very much a peaceful haven. Pristine and undiscovered at a stone's throw away from Cochin.

This year I'll have lots of pink lemons with striped skins and pretty variegated foliage. I have two varieties, 'Ponderosa' and 'Eureka' -- both are variegated foliage, striped skin, pink fleshed lemons and I honestly couldn't tell the difference if they weren't in different pots. The 'Eureka' was purchased several years ago to replace the 'Ponderosa', which fell victim to the record frosts of the 2010-2011 winter. I'm glad I didn't dig it up and toss it because a year later it began sending shoots out and is now loaded with lemons. It's nice to have two bearing trees.
My Mexican lime tree was covered with beautiful blossoms earlier in the year but it appears that the snails ate every one -- I don't have any limes at all now. The 'Mr. Mac' satsuma was zapped in the 2010-2011 frosts and while it has sent out lots of new growth, I fear that it is from the rootstock onto which the hybrid was grafted. I think a kind of bitter orange is often used for rootstock -- I'll just have to wait and see. Meanwhile, there are no blooms at all. No limes and no satsumas but oh, such lovely lemons!

This was a planned HDR scene I captured about a year ago. I've been spending a lot of time with Photoshop CS4 and ACR 5 lately and thought about re-working this piece and I'm glad I did. I have a tutorial about how I created the original HDR image here; however, after using my new process, I need to update the steps.
In short, I used to simply load my Canon 30D RAW files directly into Photomatix, tone map, then save as 16bit tiff. Then load the 16bit tiff into Photoshop to do further enhancing such as noise removal.
Now I process each RAW in ACR 5, apply Noiseware Pro NR and save each frame as a 16bit tiff, then I open each tiff with Photomatix, merge, tone map, save again as 16bit tiff, open in Photoshop, apply default Noiseware Pro NR, USM (radius 1.1, amt: 40%), then save as 8bit jpg, which is what you see above. This rendition is far better than my first version (much cleaner, sharper, and the tonal depth is better too).
A Bristlecone Pine can live to be over 5000 years old and witness almost 2 million sunrises. This one probably didn't live that long, but its snag still welcomes each new day many years after its death

long tailed tit ~ aegithalos caudatus
The long tailed tits are on the RSPB Green status list.
I could not resist taking a photo of this little cutie who was all fluffed up against the cold. I think a pair are nesting nearby as they are coming into the garden without the rest of the group. I spotted one with some nesting material in it's beak almost as big as itself.
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, --- I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! --- and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
Elizabeth Barrett Browning
I think this is one of the greatest poems of all time. My favorite part is this: “I love thee to the level of everyday’s most quiet need by sun and candle light”. While it has multiple meanings, for me it makes me feel humble to love and be loved as I am blessed to be. It is not so much about the grand gestures, though we have those moments too. Thinking of this poem again after some time, and still knowing it "by heart", I realize the romantic soul that I am.
I love this shot! After much ado (including poetry), that is the point! I say this with all due modesty, but this shot sincerely scratches a place in my heart and mind, and I would dearly love to hear if it touches you in some way and why.

How ba-a-a-ad can I be? I'm just doing what comes naturally
How ba-a-a-ad can I be? I'm just following my destiny
How ba-a-a-ad can I be? I'm just doing what comes naturally
How ba-a-a-ad can I be?
How bad can I possibly be?
I'm certainly not a fan of "The Lorax" film (I think it's overrated), and I never liked Onceler's song. Never, until the moment I heard female cover by Anna (annapantsu), and I was like WOW, this version of the song is so gorgeous! :D Then I listened to another cover by Elsie Lovelock, and it was Pure Madness, I like it so much! :D I'm not sure which one I liked the most, their versions so different - a villainess with good publicity, who perfectly pretends that she is good, and a truly evil villainess who possibly has no heart at all.
So I decided to build my own tribute to their covers! You can listen to both versions of the song and decide which Onceler is in front of you. ;)
