The sun starts to break through following a torrential shower as 60009' Union of South Africa' climbs past the hamlet of How Mill near Fenton heading the return 'Hadrian' charter to York and London Kings Cross on Saturday 10th May 2014. I would have preferred the chimney on the right but the composition was impossible due to mature tree growth.

I make no apology for uploading some more views of Tarn Hows - a much photographed scene, including by me. This may be a popular viewpoint but I never tire of the view and can't resist taking a few more shots, especially on a day as clear as this.

I'd love to know the story of this. A W126 Merc liberally painted and decapitated. Maybe a prop of some sort? seen in the unusual location of the Clough Mills Travelodge car park, Halifax, West Yorkshire..
I know these things are tough, but I wonder how much, if any strengthening was added when the roof was chopped off..

Every Day a lot of tourists are very active to get photographed while symbolically holding the Tower. Scenes undoubtedly ridiculous but sometimes fun.

I first posted this shot 14 years ago, and I was wondering what the reaction to it would be today.
When I was in high school in the early ‘50s, an urban high school in Springfield, Massachusetts, I was on the high school rifle team, and the rifle range was in the basement of one of the other high schools in the city. And, living in a nearby rural town, I used to bring my rifle to school with me on the school bus and store it in my locker. Today, if a school kid even uttered the word, “gun”, he’d be expelled, handcuffed, imprisoned, and the media would label him as a terrorist! Yet, in those days, my rifle coach used to hang my targets on the bulletin board in the hallway of the school, and shooting well, just as playing basketball well, was a thing to be proud of. Guns were easy to buy then (you could even buy them through the mail), and crime was much less of a problem than it is today. Do you think maybe guns aren’t really the problem after all? I wonder if hanging this target – 50 rounds fired with a Colt Officer’s Model .45 - up on Flickr will get me ostracized…

[CSX] SD40-2 8116, a former L&N/Family Lines motor delivered in 1980 and freshly painted in the dreadful [Shopping Cart] image, leads a CP 634 ethanol load through the Wood Dale Metra stop on a cold and overcast Black Friday. Reports of this train had it past MP 85 around 10am. 66 miles and three and a half hours later, it finally arrived at my location. How tomorrow moves, indeed.

How to Deal with Pregnancy Leg Cramps
Cramps During Early Pregnancy 懷孕期腿部抽筋，是許多孕媽咪在懷孕中後期的痛苦夢魘，
建議孕媽咪平時多攝取高鈣食物、多運動、多按摩腿部肌肉，可減輕「肌肉痙攣」的不適現象。
偶爾半夜腿部抽筋中斷了睡眠，也是懷孕中、後期許多人的痛苦經驗。原因可能與局部血液局部循環、酸鹼度或電解質有關。突然抽筋的因應方法是：將腳伸直，腳趾與腳掌緩緩彎向頭部方向，抽筋現象就會緩解，或由他人幫忙局部熱敷與按摩都有效果。
傳統上會建議從食物中加強鈣質的攝取，或補充紐萊特鈣片加牛奶、起司或小魚乾等等。有人認為牛奶中也富含磷的成份，大大的干擾到鈣質吸收，而建議補充不含磷的鈣片。注意下肢保暖與儘量左側睡來避免循環不佳的因素，白天把握機會多休息，以減少肌肉有過多的乳酸堆積。
抽筋學名為「肌肉痙攣」，懷孕期抽筋，常由以下3個原因引起：
懷孕抽筋原因●體重增加：導致小腿肌肉負擔加重，使得腓腸肌（俗稱小腿肚）和腳部肌肉發生疼痛性收縮抽筋。
懷孕抽筋原因●脹大的子宮影響血液循環：使小腿肌肉出現抽筋反應。
懷孕抽筋原因●缺鈣：胎兒需要孕婦大量的鈣質，孕婦若鈣質補充不足，易造成血鈣濃度過低，引起神經傳導失常，導致抽筋現象。
腿部抽筋的處理方法︰
懷孕期間發生腳抽筋時，可以試試以腳跟著地，或平躺時，用腳跟抵住牆壁；伸直抽筋的腿部（要伸直膝蓋，勿讓膝蓋彎曲），將腳掌向上彎，伸展小腿；同時，把腳掌向膝蓋的方向往上彎曲，將腳扳往自己身體方向下壓，讓小腿筋有被拉直的感覺。
按摩及熱敷抽筋的腿部肌肉，並小心地以踝部進行繞圈運動，也可以很快減輕抽筋的疼痛症狀。
懷孕預防腿部抽筋的方法：
懷孕預防腿部抽筋的方法●建議孕婦們平時多攝取高鈣食物，懷孕中期的鈣質每天應補充到1200mg，且多曬太陽，幫助體內維生素D3的合成，有助於鈣質的吸收。
懷孕預防腿部抽筋的方法●睡覺時，盡量保持下肢溫暖，並採側臥姿勢，也可以減輕症狀。
懷孕預防腿部抽筋的方法●避免長時間步行或久站，站立或行走30分鐘，建議休息10分鐘。
懷孕預防腿部抽筋的方法●休息時，可將腿部稍微抬高，腳趾盡量向上伸展，也可以幫助小腿後部肌肉舒張，減輕腫脹、不舒服的感覺。
懷孕預防腿部抽筋的方法●時常按摩抽筋的腳部肌肉，也能幫助血液及淋巴循環。建議可以先足浴10分鐘，再進行按摩。
懷孕預防腿部抽筋的方法●若是因靜脈曲張或是水分滯留所造成，則白天要穿上彈性襪，有助於排除或減少腿抽筋的頻率。
懷孕預防腿部抽筋的方法●每天要有充足的睡眠，懷孕後期的孕媽咪睡覺時很難保持固定姿勢，盡量以感到舒適的睡姿幫助睡眠！
懷孕預防腿部抽筋的方法●經常及適度的運動，可以減輕孕吐、腳抽筋、腰痠背痛、靜脈曲張及下肢水腫等症狀，並可以幫助睡眠，減輕懷孕過程所造成的不適。
比較溫和的運動，如散步、踩固定式腳踏車、游泳等，運動量以每週最少3次、每次20至30分鐘為宜。
