I really like this shot to be honest and have not taken a full LED in ages so this one feels extremely good. Hillend is one of my favourite parts of Edinburgh and I have always meant to try and get photos but they have either failed or just not be in the right place at the right time. But here picture perfect is Lothian Buses 1142 on a service 4 terminating before heading back to the Jewel.

It's officially been spring for a week now. Just a week ago, I was skeptical about the arrival of spring but now I'm starting to believe. The snow has gone, the grasses are looking perky, albeit yellow, and the birds are singing. In about a month, leaves will be coming in on the trees and a tinge of green will dot the grassy hillsides. To be honest, I actually prefer the golden grasses but the green only lasts a month at most before being toasted in the hot sun. It's pleasant for a short time. :-)

Honest Ed's was a landmark discount store in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was named for its proprietor, Ed Mirvish, who opened the store in 1948 and oversaw its operations for almost 60 years until his death in 2007. The store continued to operate until it permanently closed on December 31, 2016.
I just have to upload a summer picture.
To be honest, I'm sick and tired of rain, strong wind and 0-4 degrees Celsius!
Black & white treatment of Honest Abe at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC. Photo was taken during a Bryan Peterson workshop...just prior to our playing around with flashing Abe (of the strobe type ;))
Washington DC
I was fortunate to travel to the East Coast with 8th graders for 18 years. We started in Boston
and ended in Washington DC. I'm working on a book of images from our trips.
The Lincoln Memorial is an American national memorial built to honor the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. It is located on the western end of the National Mall in Washington, D.C., across from the Washington Monument. The architect was Henry Bacon; the designer of the primary statue – Abraham Lincoln, 1920 – was Daniel Chester French; the Lincoln statue was carved by the Piccirilli Brothers; and the painter of the interior murals was Jules Guerin. Dedicated in May 1922.

It has been pointed out to me recently (on a couple of occasions…!) that I don’t ever acknowledge or say thank you for the compliments I receive on my posts. And it got me thinking…
I would hope that people realise it would be futile for me to acknowledge each and every comment I receive. And hopefully it is accepted that this is a two-way thing; my recognition of the comments is to continue to post and share my story. Ultimately, as I believe I have stated before, my reason for using this forum has changed in recent years; it is wonderful to learn that so many of you draw inspiration from my journey, and I am happy to continue providing an (honest) insight into my world.
That said, it is maybe rather poor of me to not say the occasional communal ‘Thank You’ every once in a while, particularly to acknowledge those of you who clearly take time to craft a heartfelt comment or relate my experience to their own.
And so, to put right that wrong, a BIG THANK YOU to you all.
I’ll keep sharing if you keep commenting (hopefully positively!). And I’ll even try to remember to acknowledge y’all every so often. How does that sound?
Cheers everybody
