Happy Wednesday

For Macro Mondays - Hole

I was struggling to come up with a hole for this week, out of time, then this morning I had to burn a CD so decided to use that.

Happy Macro Monday!

“Be hole, be dust, be dream, be wind/Be night, be dark, be wish, be mind,Now slip, now slide, now move unseen,/Above, beneath, betwixt, between.”

A brace of Delaware-Lackawanna ALCOs storms the grade to Pocono Summit with cars from the Norfolk Southern interchange at Slateford Junction. With all traffic arriving off the NS at Taylor now, there are no Portland Turns like this one. But business is healthy and loaded grain, as well as lumber and propane, from Scranton still creates a need for monster lash-ups. Lead C636 3642 would receive a new diamond logo before the next Spring thankfully.

Paddy's Hole is a small harbour constructed from slag in the lagoon on the Teesmouth side of South Gare. It is named Paddy's Hole because of the many Irishmen who helped build the South Gare..

Along the trail is a place where the light in the morning creates the illusion of walking into this dark hole. it doesn't last long, and soon after the illusion is gone.

Another shot from Black Hole this time with a faster shutter speed to try to capture both the power of the waves striking the rocks and the flow off the rocks.

Macro Mondays : Redux 2019

A tea ball

The sunset was looking normal until the storm moved in with blackish clouds from top and bottom. The clouds seemed to engulf the sunset, creating a hole. The light clouds in the hole were weird shapes. It looked so surreal. This storm caused severe damage in some areas, with hail, rain and high wind.

Deliberate holes spotted in a blocked up window along the back wall of a building. Note sure what they are for, ventilation maybe, but who knows?

On Monday 5K Hole opened with an amazing opening party. Over 70 people stopping by and at times having over 40 amazing dancing bodies on the dance floor.

Anyway, this was my outfit for the opening.

Our next party is Saturday 27th January 12PM SLT!

"A black hole is a region of spacetime exhibiting gravitational acceleration so strong that nothing—no particles or even electromagnetic radiation such as light—can escape" (Wikipedia).

So don't be surprised if something is missing from the cake in the middle....

Crazy Tuesday

Taken for the Macro Mondays theme of cutter. HMM!

I've been finding some Gnome Homes, but this is the first Troll Hole I have seen in a long time.

Shooting sandstone at Pt. lobos, just south of Carmel, California.

I read today, where people were seeing holes in the clouds. The weather office said they weren't motherships but simply ice crystals in the clouds that turn into precipitation and fall, leaving a hole in the cloud! That was interesting, because I saw two of them yesterday, having never been aware of them before! Here's one of them.

One of the plug holes at Ladybower Reservoir, Peak District. Derbyshire.

Macro Mondays - Hole or Holes

Here we have a little hole in a little shell :)

A very mundane appliance can shine like a summer sunset at the beach, under the right angle and with a bit of imagination.

Have a closer look at the drum of your washing machine, the next time you do a laundry... 😊

(The holes are about 1cm apart, so this counts as a macro)

now the whole hole-story ...

you can guess it, it's a Tadao Ando and here you can see the opposite direction to Hilde's photo we uploaded a few days ago ...

Ando does what he often does, he combines water with concrete and glass, and combines building parts in a special angle to each other and combines a closed building part with an open building part, which at first still one-sided with roof dissolves later in a wall and roofless row of columns (you will see it later) ...

but the hinge from the closed to the open part of the building, which intersects with the main path, is decisive.

Here he makes a round recess in the roof. which marks the entrance and creates funny light and shadow games all day long ... the circle wanders and gets with the walls and the different substrates, like materials always new aspects ... so simple and easy ... so good ...
