Hidden in the trees above the Elafos and Elafina hotels at Profitis Ilias is this abandoned villa. Built as a holiday villa in the 1930s for the then Italian Governor of Rhodes, Cesare Maria De Vecchi, it was abandoned in the 1940s but then renovated in the 1950s by KIng Pavlos. It was later abandoned once more and is now a shadow of its former glory.

This is the first photo that I have taken in over a week. I abandoned my 365 after struggling to produce a crap photo day after day. It was depressing me!
I'm having December off! I need a break from photography. I'm hoping to come back reinvigorated and enthusiastic in 2014 for the 100 X challenge. I just need to decide on what my 'x' will be!
I may still upload a few random photos like this one. This is the first photo that I have taken in months that I actually like.

Trying to make contact with them. If anyone knows who they are, let them know that I put this out.
"Thanks In Advance"!
Made a visit today to one of our favorite local bookstores, AFK Books Music & Movies. They sell mostly "like new" books, CDs, DVD,s and an amazing collection of vinyl records. They also buy your old books, tunes and movies. You don't get a lot for them but every bit helps in paying for the new stack we haul back home. Canon Powershot SD870 IS, 1/40 sec @ f/2.8, ISO 200.
6.30pm on Tuesday 6th January 2009 in the old Market Square at Wernigerode in Germany.
Despite the hour, there's only one muppet hanging about outside - the temperature heading down towards minus twenty-something may have had something to do with it!
And the muppet hanging about on the cold streets? That was me.
The basic image from the camera for this shot was quite uninspiring, but I thought I'd run it through the Photomatix HDR software to see if I could bring out any of the detail from the under-exposed and over-exposed areas of the original.
There's definitely much more detail here as a result and I'm quite pleased with the outcome. Comments and (honest) critique welcome as always!
