"One of the finest examples of Victorian Gothic architecture in England
Norwich's Catholic Cathedral was gifted to the city of Norwich by Henry Fitzalan Howard, the 15th Duke of Norfolk, providing a new centre of worship for the Catholic community in Norwich.
The Cathedral was built on the former site of the City Gaol. At the Duke's request it was designed in the Early English style of the 13th century by architect George Gilbert Scott junior, a recent convert to the Catholic faith."
Built at Linwood, near Glasgow between 1963 and 1976. 500,000 were built with an aluminium engine block & 4 Speed synchromesh gearbox. It was well ahead of it's time but unfortunately the Linwood factory closed soon after production ended.
Old chair in delapidated area of Johannesburg. The whole area is covered in graffiti - most of it looks like artwork!
Hollister is the epitome of cool. The ambience of coolness draws you in, the music hypnotizes you, creating an illusion that you, too, are totally and fabulously cool. Actually, it's the chandelier that got me. I could not resist taking a picture! --- iPhone4, Camera+ app, HDR effect, thick black border.

The late 14th century fort of Počitelj consisted of a small tower and bailey. In the 15th century, Hungary’s King Matthias Corvinus, backed by Dubrovnik and herceg ( duke ) Vlatko, further fortified the town and housed a military garrison there. In 1471 Hamzabeg conquered Počitelj. From then until the early 18th century the fort was commanded by a dizdar, and then by a captain, until 1835. During the 16th and 17th centuries Počitelj was of no particular importance for defence. Travelogues dating from that time describe the fort as “a small, low fort with iron gates... it has no fosse... the fort contains the dizdar’s house, a barn, a small tower, a mosque and a water tower.“ In 1693 Venice occuped Gabela, until then the principal Ottoman fortress against Dalmatia; this gave Počitelj strategic importance. The fort was enlarged; the main tower ( the Gavran- kapetan tower ) was extended ; the town was surrounded by ramparts; a hendek ( fosse ) was dug; and two bastions ( towers ) were built. The town was entered through two gatehouses and two small gateways. The fort also had a secret gateway to provide a way out in the event of siege. After the Austro- Hungarian occupation, much of the ramparts were demolished.
