The other half of me is you. The pieces melting into a whole that is us.

St. Joseph's South Pier with the south side covered in ice, while the north side is clear.

Sometimes one has to turn an image "on its head", in this case a quarter-turn, to take a closer look at all the detail we might otherwise miss in a cursory glance. This is one half of the mast system on the Kaiwo Maru, a tall ship that visited Steveston (Richmond BC) May 5-7, 2017.

To see others' superb photos of the Kaiwo Maru during the 3 day

tall ship festival in Steveston--including the sailors up on the masts unfurling the sails--please go to this Gallery I created: www.flickr.com/photos/130881643@N04/galleries/72157681555...

had a couple of these pileated woodpeckers in the garden today, putting on quite a display as they showed off in courtship display..

A panorama of Yosemite, with Half Dome as the focal point, captured from Glacier Point and on the first day of the year when the access road had opened up. The light was a tad harsh but it brought out plenty of colour.

This magnificent bull elk, dubbed "half-rack" is a prime example of the dangers bulls face as they fight for dominance during the fall rut. While I did not witness it, according to other photographers and park rangers, this fellow had quite the harem - until he lost a good portion of his antlers in a fight with another bull. He seemed healthy other than the obvious loss and would carry on like the others, only to no avail. Nearly impossible to fight like this (although he did try) he was at a distinct disadvantage and the cow elk would have no part of him. As he tried to get close, they would move away and steer clear of his advances. Poor fellow - from one of the top bulls to an "also-ran." The good but still perilous news is that if he survives winter, he will drop his half-rack and begin to grow a full set in the spring.

We witnessed other bulls that were not so lucky - gouged eyes, limps and obvious goring injuries. Nature can be brutal.

Thanks for viewing and have a glorious weekend!

This building, located in the High Street at Lavenham in Suffolk appears to be very old but I have not been able to find any information about it.

The village of Lavenham was one of the richest in England during medieval times and local merchants became very wealthy from the wool trade. Their wealth was reflected in the houses they built and many of them still exist to this day and are protected from demolition or major changes by the law. The High Street has quite possibly one of biggest concentration of listed buildings of any village in England.

This photo isn’t about something a spectacular object or a place nor scenery. But for some reason it caught my eye! A piece of wood in the very shallow but pretty wide pond that was filled with countless twinkles from sunlights and a half of it was wet and the other half was dry where the color was changed from the original wood color. I thought there was very simple beauty of existence of elements. What comes to your mind???☺️

Church Hill , Knutsford , Cheshire.

a plate broke and... I took advantage of it. I put half a lemon. LED lights

What can I write....

Let's say; this picture dedicated to African Zebras...

Looks like half a cylindrical rain water tank sitting on the back of a truck. Spotted on the way into work.

clear sky giving a good view of the moon this evening.

This was the moon while fishing, thought it was pretty cool.

Last night's half moon. 25 images and 4 darks stacked in Lynkeos and processed in Photoshop. Images captured with Fujifilm X-T5 and XF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 at f/8, 1/320 sec, ISO 800. Part of my experiment to reveal as much detail and colour of the moon as I can with my modest equipment.

Its amazing how one tree can dominate another.

Yosemite National Park is spectacular; for me, Half Dome is its most beautiful feature. It is seen here with the Merced River.

Captured this Half-collared Kingfisher while on the Chobe River, Kasane, Botswana.

I'm really happy to finally get a decent photo of such a stunning bird. The bird is very shy, and hides in the thick bushes beside the waterways.

Last image, for now, in the series of piers around Denmark. Think this one must be under repair or stowed away for the winter. Rough windy day but such a joy to be out and about.

TOTW*Technique: big sliding window to camera left, it's overcast out, so that's why the nice soft light. Added a Pioneer Woman Sunshine action, but took out the brightness layer and then ran her Heartland action and set it to 61%. Then put a curves layer back on top to add back in some of the contrast. Also, I shot this with a pretty wide angle lens and that's why the actual umbrella doesn't appear completely circular -- wide angle lens distortion.

Today's Random Fact

My realtor for the house I currently live in was my best friend when I was in 2nd grade.

Top half of the lamppost said to have inspired C.S. Lewis to feature it in his Chronicles of Narnia.

I'd love to see it covered in snow and lit up one winter's night.
