This was New Years Eve on Bournemouth Beach looking towards Hengistbury Head.
Quite interesting conditions with very lively waves. I liked the way the light sort of splits the image in half with the curvy cloud matching the waters edge.
A happy accident of course, I'm not actually skilled at this!!

The fellow paddling also built this unusual craft. The front is a canoe but the back is decked over like a kayak. He said he likes to be a bit different. Taken at Port Townsends Wooden Boat Festival woodenboat.org/

Here is a window with traditional Alsatian heart shutters. The window is in an extremely well-maintained old half-timbered (à colombages) home. Fortunately for photographers, there are lots of such homes in Alsace.

It was Groundhog Day yesterday and the prediction is for an early spring. That means we are half way there! It won't be long before the trees start to bud again. Guess I'll make the most of what's left of winter.
Because half of the Clifton Suspension Bridge is better than none.

The east and south walls of Yosemite Valley converge on Half Dome as the sun is setting. All is reflected in the slow moving, low waters of the Merced River.

Something I thought would make a nice photo, noticed in an Antique store in Cambria, California.

Rainbow chasing became somewhat of a hobby in Iceland and Scotland due to the wild nature of the weather and the low sun. This mountain in the south east of Iceland looked completely different when we last saw it 1 year prior in mist and stormy conditions. On this day, the wind abated leaving crystal clear reflections in front of the mountain. This rainbow persisted for several hours afterward. The colour cast in the sky was from using hitech filters - I chose to leave the magenta in this image as I liked the effect overall !
Strolling through the centre of Obernai, we were thrown back time by a lot of these half-timbered houses. Obernai, France.

Since I am unable to replenish my Yosemite photos, here is a different view of Half Dome, taken from the Mirror Lake Trail. It brings to mind an old Chinese scroll, thanks to some techniques discovered while playing around with Lightroom and Photoshop.
