Sunrise, lookout over the Housatonic River, Rockhouse Hill Sanctuary, Oxford, Connecticut, US, July 20, 2022.
Half Moon is a trip. This grand, verdant oasis on Montego Bay is the sort of place James Bond would vacation (he did), a place where you may find regal English horses swimming in the sea (you will) and private pockets of respite around every corner (there are). Half Moon encompasses everything you imagined a Jamaican vacation to be – yah, mon.

Half Moon Bay Negative Low Tides occurs at the famous Maverick's Surfing spot. The tides flush out, and the reef is walkable for a few hours until it is reburied under tons of sea water.
These very low tides only happen a few times per year, and usually at night or during the week. This was a rare daytime weekend chance to see the tide pool drained. Mussels, sea stars, eels, clams, crabs crabs crabs, and tons of other critters become trapped in the tide pools for a few hours.

Half Moon held a Fun Palace free family fun day with a sustainable energy theme on Saturday 1 October 2015. Throughout the day we had a variety of free family events, including storytelling performances, science experiments, art, craft sessions, music and a junk orchestra!
Fun Palaces shouts, sings, shimmies, stomps from the rooftops: arts and sciences, all culture, is a crucial part of human life, and they are truly glorious.
Fun Palaces is a free, nationwide celebration of arts and culture inspired by theatre director Joan Littlewood and architect Cedric Price’s never-built vision of the Fun Palace, a welcoming and engaging venue for arts and sciences.
