This gumball machine is my favourite minature ever - except for the Panda jawbreaker machine :D

My Rement and Megahouse minatures arrived on Thursday. These are my favourites.

It was common to find machines in the 50s and 60s that would give me a hand full of peanuts, candy, or bubble gum for a nickel. I'd drop in the coin, give the handle a twist, and make sure my hand was under the trough. I can't believe these machines were very sanitary, but then again, I'm from the generation that routinely drank out of garden hoses and from hand pumps that pumped cold, untreated well water into a delightful stream that quenched my thirst like nothing else.

Photography Tip #7 - Keep your fingers behind the lens.

Good news, Lydia ~it's been 3 weeks now ~ and all 4 transplants seem to be doing just fine, and have new leaves forming, which is a GREAT sign!!! We'd know by now if one wasn't going to survive:)

an anual gift for my best friend Lydia, ~a planter with 3 different Geranium transplants from Kenny & my back yard. It's ready now to go home with Lydia, in the coming week!

Supported in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, The City of Malden, and Malden Arts. Info at: www.maldenarts.org/switchbox-project.html

Lydia's 2009 Geranium transplant-planter!! there are 4 different types of Geraniums, from around our backyard

Lydia, here are your 3 out of 4 "Gum Ball Machine" Geraniums! I added more beads today... alot of the previous ones must have settled a bit down into the soil.

so etwas hing früher fast an jeder Hausecke - heute sind sie sehr selten geworden

I felt it was time to expand my minifig arcade vignette. Building guide now available at chrismcveigh.com

Now I see Miss Blue making eyes at the bubble gum machine. This girl has a major sweet tooth! Her new eyes look amazingly cool in this shot!

I'm still trying to catch up with A Doll A Week. I'm a bit behind but trying not to add too many to the group.

This photo is going to be seen in the November 2009 "Creating Keepsakes" magazine in the photo column. YAHOO!

Here, at Summit Place, is another symbol of desertion.
