"Behind the groove
There's another side inside of you
Behind the groove
You can make your wildest dreams come true
So get on up
Behind the groove
And shake your body
Get behind the groove
Open up and take the music in "

The #FlickrFriday #Scale challenge
Still bearing overnight rain on its cap, a grooved bonnet (distinguised from others of the mycena fungi group by the vertical striations on its stem) emerges from a split in a long dead fallen tree trunk in Hillhouse Wood, Essex.
To provide an impression of scale, the foliage in the photo is moss. The photo is a 12-image stack, taken as shown using 32mm of extension tubes.
Another landscaped wonderland for us to explore. You can thank me later when you see that I have the landmark for this area posted below this pic.

Luna is a recent adoptee from the Dolly Market Forum's marketplace. I'm still trying to decide what kind of wig I want for her. In the mean time, she's stuck with this one.
She's wearing an Azone shirt and Barbie jeans.

**Sweet sweet Arimi**
These shots prove that Arimi can be sweet, polite and cute when she wants ^_^
Totally opposed to this
I don't know enough about geology to say the smaller rock in the foreground caused the groove in the larger formation but when I saw it, the title leaped out and I had to take the shot. The sun was just off to the left of the image and created a very contrasty light. Converting it to B&W seemed to work a bit better.
Entirely black bird with long tail that seems loosely attached. Named for its thick, grooved bill with a curved top, but grooves often difficult to see. Widespread through Central and South America, north to southern Texas. Most similar to Smooth-billed Ani, which lacks the grooved bill. Most often found in small flocks. Prefers open shrubby habitats such as weedy lots or woodland edge.

Raiki, sitting on the deck rail in front of the now leafless burning bush.
Not a Sample Sale bargain, but a guy I ordered before all the deals showed up. I didn't like Raiki for the longest time. And then he supposedly sold out. So of course then I decided I needed him. And then he came back into stock. Yeah!
This Groove-billed Ani was found by an out-of-state birder at Encinitas Community Park (Encinitas, CA), on 19 November, 2017. This was a first San Diego County record. These unique, almost "prehistoric-looking" birds are in the Cuckoo family (Cuculidae). During the hour and a half that was spent watching this bird (on 24 Nov., 2017), it was seen catching a number of grasshoppers and/or katydids.
