A very common bird seen around Perth but not so easy to capture well due to the deep black of the head. Luckily the light was in a great position while this bird was grooming.

Grooming the horses today at the stables. The Black jodhpurs went in the washing machine soon as I got home as covered in horse hair and straw.
When your antennae (and legs) are disproportionately lengthy, the simple act of keeping them dusted and polished calls for public displays of dexterity and reach.....

a standard outdoor bride and groom shot captured at the beautiful gardens of the Cheney Mansion in Oak Park, Illinois...shot this using an 85mm 1.8 nikkor prime lens in natural light...love this lens as it gives really crisp details but it was kind of difficult to compose shots with the 85mm...certainly is a challenge for me to try and compose a shot of the couple that's pleasing and wonderful...i liked how this one turned out...pls. This guy presided over a family picnic. I'm simply not used to bald eagles sticking around in one spot for a few minutes, let alone hours at a time. So my desperate attitude toward capturing images of bald eagles translated to taking the same photo over and over again expecting this guy to leave, but he never did. So I picked an image of him grooming while kids were playing and screaming in the water beneath him.
As a child growing up in the era affected by DDT in the Pacific Northwest, seeing a bald eagle was extremely rare. Since the banning of DDT in the US the population of almost all large bird species have increased. I never saw bald eagles in the area this photo was taken when I was a child. Now one hangs out there all afternoon. Yay environmentalism.
Poecilotheria rufilata female juvie (3.5-inch)
Three days since her molt and having finished taking a fifteen-minute drink, this little girl spent the past two hours meticulously grooming each leg with her fangs. (That done, she has just now ended her fast with a nice juicy roach.) Check out the Original of this one!
It is always a challenge to photograph the groom and the groom's men in a fun an cool way. Well, I had a lot of fun with Marco and here are some of the shots I like from his getting-ready part of the day.
Here's another fun groom's men shot

These were made for a couple whose surname is Shepherd, hence the sheep theme. There were ten sheep in the flock... the bride and groom plus five bridesmaids and three ushers.
They took me hours but I was pretty happy with how they turned out :-)

The groom's table has special items during the wedding. Also, an overdose of waiters serve him to earn some extra tip!
