I always assumed jackdaws landing on the deer in Richmond Park were ridding the deer of parasites but...

it's a bit more 'Daphne Du Maurier' than I thought: they are plucking out fur, presumably to use as nest-building material!

I assume that this is the time of year that the deers moult and the jackdaws are taking full advantage.

The deer looks like he's thinking "See what I have to put up with?"

I spent 3 hours this afternoon mowing and weed whacking the long grass and weeds. It's been wet so couldn't do it until today. What a job! But it's done and now things look much trimmer!

Cats gotta groom themselves or so Suki might say if I asked her why she was doing this.

Bride + Groom at Sunset.

Out of all the pictures of the Bride and groom this is probably my favorite. Love the woods, the sky just peaking in between the branches with nice cool tones in the susnet. As I grabbed a few extra family portraits I noticed some of the clouds beginning to color; so I cranked up my flash power and forced the sky to go rich and dark for some dramatic portraits.

Strobist: 1 Flash (Canon 430 EX II) camera right and above subject. Cheap plastic diffuser, and triggered with a cheap found on amazon remote trigger.

(btw --- I I'm not very happy with the way it renders on Flickr. It looks way better and tack sharp in aperture and print.)
