There I was setting up to photograph the sunset from the top of Craggy Pinnacle along the Blue Ridge Parkway when up strolled a woman in her wedding dress. Wow, was I under dressed.
The hamerkop (Scopus umbretta), is a medium-sized wading bird. The shape of its head with a long bill and crest at the back is reminiscent of a hammer, which has given this species its name after the Afrikaans word for hammerhead. It is a medium-sized waterbird with brown plumage. It is found in Africa, Madagascar and Arabia, living in a wide variety of wetlands, including estuaries, lakesides, fish ponds, riverbanks, and rocky coasts. The hamerkop is a sedentary bird that often shows local movements.
This beautiful Hamerkop was captured busy preening itself during a photographic safari on late evening game drive in Nairobi National Park, Kenya the only national park in the world within a city.

This is Wolf-Wolf the "table dog" grooming Tinkie, the puppy left by the road that had a broken leg. After a trip to the vet we learned that to repair her leg would require surgery and pins and be over $2000., so that not being an option we brought her home and hoped for the best. She has healed and although unable to bear weight on that back leg, she uses it for balance and runs everywhere. This is the baby I posted with the bottle a couple of months ago.
The groom at a recent wedding! His trike and a whole bunch of the coolest gear made for a great pre ceremony photoshoot!

The same handsome roe buck I uploaded last week which I saw at Prestbury Hill nature reserve near Cheltenham. This time he's grooming himself.
Jackdaws and deer have a symbiotic relationship. The jackdaws remove insects from the deer, providing a grooming service in exchange for a meal. In spring when the deer are losing their winter coats, the jackdaws will pull clumps of fur off to line their nests.
Tigger and Yuba, mutually grooming each other. This tends to go on for a minute or two, then Tigger gets annoyed for some reason, and hisses at Yuba, then stalks off. Yuba just takes it in stride and wanders off, looking for food.

Capture taken from the wedding that I photographed the other evening. Here I was shooting indoors at ISO 1600 and using the Canon top mounted flash and bouncing with CTO Gel of the wall and ceiling to the left to give overall white balance "balance to the scene, supplementing the interior lighting.
Was taking a shot of my daughter and her boyfriend when the Groom stepped into the shot ;)
It was a fun time shooting this event.
I liked to bounce the flash so it is not directed right at the subjects ... and thus making this look like it was taken with lighting that already was there at the venue. I also reduced the blue color channel to remove any blue cast from the last evening lighting coming in through the windows.
