These machines are built by the same company that makes Ski-Doo, they groom the ski slopes at Marmot Basin in Jasper. The overhead winch allows them to go up slopes at 45 degrees.
There I was setting up to photograph the sunset from the top of Craggy Pinnacle along the Blue Ridge Parkway when up strolled a woman in her wedding dress. Wow, was I under dressed.
The hamerkop (Scopus umbretta), is a medium-sized wading bird. The shape of its head with a long bill and crest at the back is reminiscent of a hammer, which has given this species its name after the Afrikaans word for hammerhead. It is a medium-sized waterbird with brown plumage. It is found in Africa, Madagascar and Arabia, living in a wide variety of wetlands, including estuaries, lakesides, fish ponds, riverbanks, and rocky coasts. The hamerkop is a sedentary bird that often shows local movements.
This beautiful Hamerkop was captured busy preening itself during a photographic safari on late evening game drive in Nairobi National Park, Kenya the only national park in the world within a city.

A worker bee grooms honey off one of her hivemates. The honey gets all over when moving a colony. It’s a win-win: one gets cleaned, the other gets a meal.
I don't think I have ever seen a happier bride and groom. It was a real privilege being at this wedding.

Yeah, it's called Extreme Dog Grooming. I took Snoopy to the groomer to get shaved down for the summer. I was told to pick him up around noon. I went out to do some shopping when I was called at 10:30. I thought that was not bad. I missed the call and when I checked my voicemail, I heard that Snoopy went Satan at them and they couldn't shave him down. They did get halfway through and that's why his back looks good, but I'll have to do the rest myself. At least they didn't charge me for what they did do. I did tell them he gets testy getting clipped. When I showed up he was not only happy to see me, but he was even decent with the groomers. Go figure.

This is Wolf-Wolf the "table dog" grooming Tinkie, the puppy left by the road that had a broken leg. After a trip to the vet we learned that to repair her leg would require surgery and pins and be over $2000., so that not being an option we brought her home and hoped for the best. She has healed and although unable to bear weight on that back leg, she uses it for balance and runs everywhere. This is the baby I posted with the bottle a couple of months ago.

As it is true of many older cats, especially those with hyperthyroidism, there is a tendency for the fur to get matted, even if you brush them daily. Fortunately, this wonderful woman Sally from Colorado Cat Grooming does a magical job of removing the matted areas. And she visits the home so the cat experiences less stress. Gentle and calming.

A males body length is 38 - 50cm and female 34 - 52cm; the tail is up to 84cm
They usually weigh between 7.5 - 8.1kg for a male and 7.6 - 8.4kg female.
Group size varies from 2 - 30. Usually subgroups exist of about 6 individuals with one adult male. Grooming is important and serves to reinforce social bonds.
Spider monkeys are ideally suited to life in the treetops. Their hands are thumbless, black and elongated. They swing from branch to branch with their hands hooked over branches rather than holding on to them. They have a prehensile tail that acts as another hand and can support their whole weight. The tail is so dexterous that the spider monkey can pick a peanut up with it. Their feet are also elongated with a semi-opposable toe, which enables it to grasp.
Spider monkeys rely more on their sight than their sense of smell, although males will mark territories with scent glands on their chest.
When driving away intruders, these monkeys will growl and bark like a small terrier dog. They will also break off small branches and toss them at the intruder.
