Even the village church got into the act at the 2015 Appleby village scarecrow and open garden festival. This splendid looking couple greeted visitors to the church.
Over lockdown trying to do haircuts and other grooming has been a feature. How well it is completed is a whole other thing! I have documented some of my items, enjoy.

I give myself a haircut about once a quarter whenever my hair stops behaving, using a pair of scissors. I use the big mirror in the bathroom, and 2 little adjustable shaving mirrors (one on the wall beside the mirror, and the other on the bathroom door). Once cut, my dead straight hair is quite easy to look after. I wash it with shampoo in the shower (without bothering with conditioner), dry it with a towel, and that's it. No brushing or combing necessary.

I mounted my iPhone on a tripod, facing the mirror, and used the timer to take the photo. I cropped the iPhone out of the picture afterwards.
A recent visit to the western fields at Deer Lake Park did not turn up too much. But I did find three Northern Flickers doing some early morning grooming. I could hear two other ones calling from a distance.

To make neat and attractive. New Year's always make me think about what I would like to do in the coming year. Well, many areas of my life could use some "grooming". So, where to start... I think I will have another cup of coffee and ponder it a bit longer.
Happy New Year Everyone! I look forward to your wonderful photographs in 2013!
We found a Groomer near us and finally she got her hair cut. All but her tail, we love it so told the groomer not to cut it, so she only trimmed it a little. It's warm enough now and I'm sure Shizandra feels better. I know she looks better. She got a lovely blue and green scarf today too.

It cracks me up how much these guys are like human siblings. If anyone catches them at grooming time, they'll run away and pretend like it never happened. "Her?! I hate her."
As Bonkers reached the end, he needed a lot of help. We had to change his diaper several times a day and clean him up and give him a shower a few times a week. Bonkers enjoyed the attention and looked forward to it (but not the shower, which he tolerated for about one minute before trying to escape).

I had so much fun taking pictures of the groom (sheva) and his six groomsmen. What a great group of guys - great smiles and up for anything - even outside pictures in 30 degree weather!
