For this second fictional member of the now-departed Green Bus fleet, I've chosen another double-decker of advanced design, namely the BMMO D9. Very few of these operator-built buses saw further service, perhaps because of the advanced design and concerns over the availability of spare parts. That said, Green Bus Services clearly had more than a passing interest in classis vehicles and it is possible that the company had in its employment somebody with engineering knowledge of the D9. Or perhaps the image simply depicts a preserved vehicle turned out in GBS livery? (09-Oct-10).

Too bad--it looks like the countertop and backsplash tile was redone, and the dividing line is obvious. And it's too bluish to go with those beautiful green floor tiles.
From our last trip to West Virginia. This one came complete with notices about a recent police search for the man who'd killed the guy who used to work there in the early nineties.
A Common Green Shieldbug nymph (Palomena prasina) on a grass inflorescence. It was shot in the field in situ, and the green background is a plantain leaf held behind to prevent a black background with the flash.

The Green Honeycreeper (Chlorophanes spiza) is a small bird in the tanager family. The male is mainly blue-tinged green with a black head and a mostly bright yellow bill. These guys require some due care with exposures....difficult to expose iridescent Turquoise can prove to be quite challenging. A Strategy of exposing far to the right can lead to over exposed images in a heartbeat. I chose to leave bird as is, and not clone out dirty beak area.. as these guys were raiding a nearby fruit tree...

Had a lovely green woodpecker in the garden today,managed a few shots & took a short video through the kitchen window.
added some blackbird song as all you could hear was the kitchen clock..

Excellent, just as before, except this visit all the sweeter because I'm having it in the company of the lovely DT.
The contrast in texture from 1) creamy cool and smooth in varying degrees and thicknesses (airy gelatin based mousse, whipped mildly sweetened cream, smooth and matcha rich green tea gelato) to 2) soft and sticky (a pair of super chewy and delightfully bouncy mochi (sticky rice cakes)) to 3) dense (stewed red beans) to 4) crunchy dry cornflakes to 5) spongy moist (castella cake cubes) was incredible . The flavour contrasts were also exciting in the mouth: mild (cream), slightly sweetened and tannic (green tea sweets), saccharine pops (red bean), and toasty (cornflakes).
This simple yet complex parfait was a great combination of things that were neither too sweet nor outrageous and strange, but together, quite eyeopening (cornflakes? Wow! Cornflakes). Together, however, it was harmony. Scrumptious, fantastic, and a great snack. Yes, cornflakes and all.
Composition: Matcha green tea mousse cake, sweetened red bean, corn flakes, green tea gelato, mochi, sponge cake and whipped cream.
Metroline (London Buses) M437 (GYE 437W) stands in the bus station at Golders Green on March 5th 1994. It was working route 240 which ran from Golders Green to Edware Station via Mill Hill.

Green fly - Was not getting any bug to photograph on this particular day and was unhappy... Then saw this little creature... on the leaf. Above my head's height. Stretched my tripod and kept elbow on it and tried to shoot.. Leaf was moving due to slight wind... but got a manageable shot.. The bug looked too good through the lens :-) Hope you enjoyed the shot... Kenko extension tubes + 100mm macro lens .
So, here's another modification of the Green Grocer (#10185).
Actually the plan was to dismantle the Green Grocer to make some space for other MOCs, but instead I ended up rebuilding it for the second time.
Now I really like it, I guess.
Added another floor, rebuilt the roof and stairs again and added some more furnishings.

In a little while I will be posting short series taken in an underground mine. This is a redundant machine that, while no longer used, retains some character.
The beauty of the lake is always changing,
With the light, the weather and the season.
Yet each change holds a splendor all its own,
Each viewing precious for its own reason.
In sunshine, golden stars dance across the water.
Moonlight shines a beacon in the peaceful night.
The wind causes whitecaps to erupt and roll,
While calm brings assorted reflections of light.
The water has a new costume each day,
Perhaps gray or green, aqua or blue.
Though each view is different, the lake is the lake,
Lovely in its every color, mood and hue.

I walk past this door on the way to the gym everday and I love it. I am not sure if it is because of the color or if I like the texture/peeling paint but I finally had my camera in my truck so I took a few pics. It seems so out of place in Pittsburgh....I feel like it should be on a little cottage in Ireland or something like that. Not sure if my shot does the door justice but I am going with this one...
