This Green Heron wasn't the slightest bit bothered by walkers, joggers and cyclists using a path only a few feet away from where it was busy hunting for tasty treats along the edge of one of the lakes at Regional Lakes Park, Fort Myers.

... ever since editing this image I regret not using my camera here instead of my (then) five year old camera phone ... newer smartphones are noticeably better, but I make it a point keeping my ecological fingerprint as small as possible ... and this now seven year old phone is still working : ))

Like other toucans, the Andean Toucanet is brightly marked and has a large bill. The adult is 30–35 cm (12–14 in) long. The sexes are alike in appearance, although the female generally is smaller and slightly shorter-billed.
The Andean Toucanet is a generally common in humid forest and woodland, mainly at higher elevations.

While walking around the lake, I saw this green heron (Butorides virescens) near the lake. To take the photo I had to hide behind a tree.

Today is a green day at Color my World Daily and that is awesome ! I honestly have enough of white and I’m very eager to see some greenery outside !
But it is a little bit too soon for a green landscape here. We have few more weeks ( or months ??) left until we can see some grass…

Isn’t that a green day at Color my world Daily, today ? Yes, it is my friends ! And you all know by now how much I love green days (almost as much as i love eggs and gin and tonic lol).
So today we have another old book from my collection. I love the color and the texture of the paper on this one. It is super thick and very soft. My book is an old dictionary. I hope you like it as much as I do !

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is a green day at Color my World Daily and I decided to go with a Little Prince picture. My week is a little bit hectic since my sons are on spring break at home and so am I. So far, we did a lot of cooking (banana bread, meatballs and muffins were a huge hit), some major walking in the neighborhood, snow shoveling and some art projects (with my younger one since my 15 years old is way too old for art… according to him). Maybe today we will do some "mother and sons" laundry folding ! After that, I bet that my sons will be super happy to go back to school !!!

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today we celebrate a green day at Color my World Daily. And in Montreal we have another cold winter day. Once again my schedule is completely hectic this week and my picture was inspired by this situation… Sometimes I just want to take everyone and everything important to me, put it in a space shuttle and go to another galaxy far far away for a family vacation (Cuba ??) ! Just like Madame Giraffe here : she is making sure that everything she needs is nicely packed before she goes on vacation…
But for now: I just need my coffee and I will be good.
