The huemul doe made it safely across the rapids and quickly got down to grazing on the vegetation. In this case it was true that the 'grass' was greener on the other side since road construction on the Carretera Austral, which was quite close to the stream at that point, had degraded the vegetation on the road side. It's not very usual to see coast with rocks in the province of Valencia, only the locals know these small and wonderful places.

Another Green Heron from yesterday. This one also struck for a fish, but I completely missed any photos of it. They are incredibly quick, which is why they are so successful. Maplewood Nature Center, Ramsey County, MN 08/10/25
This frog likes to hide under the umbrella at our table on the deck When we open it, he used to hop away. Guess he is used to us because now he usually just goes back up the pole.

Your 'Comments' do not always appear in 'Notifications' or Flickr mail, so, I am sorry for any delay in responding. Often your 'Comment' is only spotted 'On the Page' on the day, that I see it. (seen ONLY when replying to someone HAS 'Commented' on the image, and I see a notification)
Called my daughter and asked if she would model for a photo when she got off work. She said yes, then I asked if she had a green palette..."no, but I'll figure something out". She is so cool!
