CHINA PUDONG DISTRICT DONG HAI 22MAY10 - Wind turbines manufactured by Sinovel at the Dong Hai offshore windfarm, about 100 Km southeast of Shanghai. The pilot project is the first of its kind in China and consists of 34 wind turbines each with a capacity of 3 MWh. Sinovel is the largest manufacturer of wind turbines in China and the third largest worldwide.

CHINA SHANGHAI HONGQIAO 19MAY10 - Installation of solar photovoltaic panels on the roofs of the Hongqiao Passenger Rail Terminal in Shanghai, China. Without the need to produce new material, designer Mijin Park created a series of durable, weatherproof objects by weaving polypropylene straps traditionally used for packaging.
This is part of the whole series of renewable energy images that we are digging up from the "secret" (not really) archives to post for general use by all. Three different solar technologies in use - Solar PV to provide electric, solar hot water for the home and solar pool heat for, well, obviously, the pool.

This guy went all out and covered his house with solar panels. I say: well done sir! Some day I'll have the scrill for such a project. In the meantime, I'll have to settle for bringing my own bag to the grocery store and taking shorter showers.
