Walk along the River Thames to Hartslock nature reserve, June 2010

Thunderstorms were on the way and I wanted to get down off the highest parts of Trail Ridge Road before they hit. I didn't check my camera settings and blew out most of the shots I took. I liked this one, though, because it looked like the faded images on the tourist information signs at the viewpoints.

The Gore Range is a 60 mile mountain range in north central Colorado and is host to many summits over 13,000' and 50 summits over 12,000'. This range is a favorite of world-class climbers since it is riddled with high, gnarled, tooth-like spires and dramatic serrated ridges. Taken from the Ute Pass Road north of Silverthorne, Colorado.

I believe the mountain on the left is Mount Silverthorne and the mountains on the right are Mt Valhalla and Grand Traverse Peak.

Sized large for wallpaper, geo-tagged if you'd like to check the location. Enjoy.

Goring-by-Sea signal box by the Down line alongside Goring Street level crossing. Thursday 14th May 1987

Goring signal box was a London Brighton & South Coast Railway Company type 3b design fitted with a 20 lever Stevens Tappet frame (frame number 5979) built by signalling contractors Saxby & Farmer that opened in 1900 replacing an earlier signal box located diagonally opposite across the level crossing. The railway station was renamed from Goring to Goring-by-Sea on 6th July 1908, so presumably the signal box was renamed Goring-by-Sea around the same time. Closure came on 25th June 1988 when signalling between Goring-by-Sea and Angmering passed to the new signalling panel in Lancing signal box, the level crossing being controlled by closed circuit television

The signal box carried a British Rail corporate identity printed design nameplate

I have lots of scraps from my asymmetric jumpers, and this gored skirt was the perfect use to make something useful out of all those extras.
